'unity in diversity' is just the fragment of imagination
by anuj on Oct 07, 2010 02:29 PM  | Hide replies

at the ground level, very little of that actually exists. its a known fact that people from the south are looked at strangely and considered outsiders by the northern folk. Similarly people who visit Tamil nadu from the northern and central belt of india are too considered to be outsiders and foreigners by the localites there. There are very few cities like Delhi,Bangalore,Ahemadabad,Mumbai and Hyderabad which have a true cosmopolitan culture and people mingling from all parts of the country. Smaller towns and villages(north, south, east or west) do not quite have that culture. Therefore unfortunately we cannot deny that the phrase 'unity in diversity' is just a fragment of the imagination(in most cases). And this has just been evident with the kind of regional and senseless comments posted on this forum over the last one week.

Never been a case as mentioned by you, i think you must be novoice has not seen TN, go and any part of TN even in villages you find a marwadi owning a pawn shop and making his living there, even you find large population of telugu, kanada, mallu, sourastraian, marathis and even rajput lives as localised population still they speak their native tongue at home, hence TN is the only place in India next to US where outsiders make their living comfortably, never been a case of any ligustic issue or a communual disharmony has heppened in TN, those who speak against TN just out of their frustation and jealous...
and chennai is the only citi in India in which Bus sign boards are displayed even in english, i havent seen any english board even in so called cosmo cities like Mumbai,B'lore, Delhi, pune,
floks please growup....
Hence the true diversity only lives in TN...

you call mumbai cosmopolitan where up,bihar people are driven out everyday..u call bengaluru cosmopolitan where there is always tension between kannadigas and tamils...

pls dont call a city cosmopolitan just because you FIND many region people LIVING there. It is just out of survival needs..

In the mindset and attitude wise, I am sure no people or city in india is broadminded to accept others as one among them..given a chance they will drive all non-regional people out..

cosmopolitan city in india is a myth just like unity is..

is it a rajni's movie.
by kanna ravi on Oct 07, 2010 12:58 PM  | Hide replies

I REPEAT, since my message vanished in this platform after getting displayed for few minutes

Let;s be honest, Is ROBOT a rajni's movie.

Sun pictures money, shankar & his team, viz., poo kutty, animations, make up etc etc contibutes 90% to the movie and balance 5% each lets give to ash and rajni.

"Avatar" is called James Cameroon's movie and not the male character of Avatar. Truly stunts of animated character looks better than rajni and his dupes.

Ravi,
Dont ever compare Avatar with Robot,Avatar movie cost around 1500 cores and Robot was 160 cores.

This is not a typical rajini and thats what most of us expect, we dont want the masala kind of movie which he used to play earlier and dont want him to be portrayed has superhuman in movies.

This movie is a very good package which has
special effects
beautiful places
excellent editing
plus rajini

tamil,

i am not comparing the budget.

My only point is to give credit to the creator than to the character.

thanks for understanding

Accepted. Then, Who else would watch this movie if not for Rajni? Can you name an actor who would have played the same movie and made it such a success?
