after a longtime, heard applause after a hindi movie in a theatre... movie is little bit slow like small town life ..hats off to director for the sincerity
and honesty of telling a real and simple story beautifully..brilliant movie...

I must agree with the line "heard applause after a long time", so true. Great film making.

Udaan is Masterpiece
by arnab bhattacharya on Jul 18, 2010 12:58 AM

Just saw udaan today.. Previously TZP used to be one of my best films but Udaan crossed that level.. The story could have been filled with melodrama only but an mature handling of teh subjects made it so real and devoid of melodrama that I was thinking when Bollywood had grown up.. but then from names like kashyap,Bhardwaj & Banerjee (also aamir Khan & abhay deol) u expect something like this only.. now waiting for Peepli live

Fully agree...but Anurag Kashyap can also sometimes make crap movies like "No Smoking" on the other hand ! Think that "Udaan" is his best film till date...it will go down as a gem of Hindi cinema in the years ahead, I am sure. The kind of film that defines a genre and is taught to students at FTII. Brilliant script, direction, performances (by the entire cast), and cinematography / music.
