Despite Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan anchoring the third season of big-ticket reality show Bigg Boss on Colors, data from aMap, the overnight ratings agency, showed that the launch episode aired on October 4 generated an average television rating point (TRP) of just 3.
Tis is not only less than what media agencies had anticipated, but also lower than the opening ratings of other popular reality shows, those that are running or have just concluded.
The first-episode ratings of reality shows like Raakhi Ka Swayamvar (starring Rakhi Sawant) on NDTV Imagine (TRP of 3.7), Aap Ki Kachehri anchored by ex-policewoman Kiran Bedi for the second season (TRP of 3.4) and Akshay Kumar-anchored reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi-2, also on Colors, was at 3.
Shah Rukh Khan-hosted Paanchvi Pass, the reality show on STAR Plus last year (TRP of 4)

According to overnight ratings released by aMAP Overnight TV Ratings Meter, the topper on Sunday was Big Boss3 with a net rating of a 6.0 while the Farah Khan hosted Tere Mere Beach Mein, which surprisingly pitted Shah Rukh Khan opposite Bachchan, ended up faring less than 4.5. Ghajini, Bollywood's top blockbuster, on NDTVImagine the same day, drew a rating of 3.1 while Akshay Kumar starrer Singh is King on Sony drew around 3.3 according to aMAP.
Big Boss 3 opener also reportedly has broken the pattern, having doubled the viewership as compared to previous seasons, BB2 being hosted by Shilpa Shetty, and Big Boss 1, whereas usually the trend has been of sequels and 'trequels' having decreased in ratings compared to their opening seasons.

Amitabh Bachchan has once again shown who the top star from Bollywood is. His Big Boss 3 on Colors which was going head to head Sunday against the Om Shanti Om/Main Hoon Naa team of Farah Khan-Shahrukh Khan on Star Plus on October 4, outdrew Shah Rukh Khan on Farah Khan on her Tere Mere Beach Mein on Star Plus in national ratings.

You guys are real losers! Quoting aMAP (what the f... is that?) and TRP ratings...! You really need to find something else to read other than TRP ratings of shows and how Bachchan cosies up to his UP Bhaiya politicians.
Both the biggies are real opportunistic and no role models for the nation. I tell you, don't lose your wits fighting over who is the nobler one.

give me one instance when SRK claimed religious bias....he has a hind-u wife and they celebrate all the festivals in their house..most of his directors are hind-u, his childhopod friends hind-u and he is the only mu*lim actor to have hind-u names for his children...compare this to hyped bacchan who claims to be a UPite even when living in Mumbai...fails to acknowledge the marati people and has contacts with go0ns of UP like Amar Singh and Abu Azmi...lives in Mumbai gets fame in Mumbai and goes for campaigning in UP calling it a jurm(crime) less state...what a joke this m0ron is...if not for hindi media(all the hindi news channels) this cow belt dehati hero would be nowehere.......

U really are not aware of the religious bias claimed by SRK ? Dude, u r really very 1ll 1nformed...forgot the recent botched up US tamasha ? it took him some time to realize that it boomerganged, and hence he back tracks.
As far as AB is concerned, again u seem to be very very 1ll 1nformed..for ur information, AB had banned media from reporting his films or from interviews and it happened to be the period when he gave hit after hit..There used to be no media coverage for any of his films then..also he didnt have producers or directors giving proxy interviews aka K jo and Farah Khan about what are his emotions and what he ate and how much time he spent in the loo etc...as for his contacts with goons ? who doesnt know SRK's contacts and the ppl he mingles with including the gentleman whome he went to meet in US when the whole fiasco erupted ?

SRK did not claim religious bias ?? Dude u r more ill informed than I thought...very recently on his trip to US he made a huge hue and cry about being held up as he was a mu$l1m, and when ppl from all fields started criticizing, he back tracked saying he did not say so...as if the US ppl spread the news out of concern ! LOL !

Forrest Gump claims that AB is a flop, but wherever he sees his name mentioned, he clicks and reads. FG, that is the power AB has over everyone.
