I don't understand why such stupid complaints are heard by the indian courts when there are so many other important cases are pending. The courts must simply throw out these type of cases and impose a hefty fine on the useless persons who are filing those cases.Lets not make India another Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan.

the court is not involved yet. someone filed the complaint just to gain publicity. in a recent case, an actress was brought into complaint for similar reasons in Rajasthan and the judge ruled against the complainant for dishonoring the court with something that didn't need a judiciary's intervention. we need more judges like that.

I find her sense of economy adorable..:))saving a lot of money on clothes...
what a crap.... haaa I think mr. Kaniraj seat besides CM and he expected Sharon Stone like pose from Mallika.... stupid... siting Cross legged is indecency then some one ask him what is decency?
There are some norms to be followed in a public place. Take USA, the most liberated country in sex matters. Hillary does not appear in this sort of dress when she campaigns for elections. She comes in an elegant skirt or pant suit.
Appropriate dress for appropriate occasions.
If Mallika dresses like this in a bar or a beach or in some massage parlor, it wont matter at all. But a public place where diginitaries come and grace, she should have dressed appropriately.

Hillary is a politician and not an actress..so there is no comparison

Hllary vs Mallika! Wow..
How Mallika vs Madonna or Sharon Stone or Britney Spears or Paris Hilton! Mallika is fully dressed by the standards. Secondly this is not a Govt occassion , this is a music launch of a movie - a complete entertainment industry occasion.
Thirdly Morality: Let us agree that Mallika was inappropriately dressed for a moment. If this is a legal fight, it remains to be seen if there was a dress code requirement or exposing back and sitting cross legged are indeed indecent poses (wearing saree exposes back too, and indicating sitting cross legged in front of CM a violation is like imposing imperialism). But other than that morally, men have no right to tell women what to wear and what not to. They dont hold right over their lives and choices. How come there are no concerns when some man arrives with his body bare and a lungi that reveals much in the light.
I am no fan of Mallika, but this is overreaction at its best.

How would you guys react if you see mallika wearing the same dress at a temple...
I believe Nameless wanted to communicate the same.

We had a school trip to Ajanta, Ellora and I have also seen Belluru Halebidu in South India... Have you looked at the women status in those temples? they are nude and in love making positions!!! Mallika is atleast covering her vitals!

In response to Apr.... This function was definitely not set in temple and your CM is no priest for that matter.... so keeping 'ifs and buts' on one side...in the present scenario whatever furore is against her is plain intolerance, stupidity and over-reaction !

Mr nameless, everyone should be allowed to dress as they wish. If you don't like her, ignore her. Don't impose on her what you think is right. I just think she was trying to keep up her image as an actress! As far as Hillary is concerned, have u seen her pics when she was a young lawyer practising in court? The difference is, in US you can dress as you wish but in India you waste half your life meddling in other people's business and dressing sense.

I aggree with Mr. aarti. She is beautiful and an actress and will dress as per her taste. They called a glamorous actress to the function and not an ugly old, ready to die and poorly groomed and dressed politician and or a suited proffessor. Also, Indians, enjoy all these kinds of dresses, but love to complain at the same time.Plus ,Mr Kaniraj is jealous of her, as he has to go back home and look at his wife. When these Politician step out of India and are with world leaders, I feel like hiding in a cave and say to these people , that I am Indian as I feel ashamed the way they groom and dress.Remedy-Mr Kaniraj and or other people, who do not believe in appreciating the beauty, can always wear dark glasses.

Don't compare apples to oranges. Hillary is presidential candidate and mallika is a sleazy actress. what applies for one doesn't apply for the other.

This is a bogus survey. Where was it done? Can you provide a link?

Since u started this, let me tell u Indian scientists and doctors living in India are not making even 1% contribution to world medicine and research. In fact, they learn from western countries to use it in India. Westerners might be making mistakes but they are much better than what Indians are doing.

Can you associate the word "freedom" to the lady concerned? If so, you can let be free and appreciate her beauty if u can or else leave it.

Definately, indians have double standard. When a young guy goes for the bride, the first thing, he looks for is the color and beauty. I have yet to meet the guy, who will say , I need to marry an ugly woman with lots of degrees and no money. This will only happen if no beautifull lady would like to marry this person.People, be honest to yourself and others.Just do not say nonsence to look good.

Please ask urself, Who would you like to be with, Kiran bedi or Mallika? This is problem with Indian men, big difference in preaching and practising. All the rules are made only for women while nothing like this is a problem for men.
