Major ravi should give direction charge to somebody else
by GOGO on Feb 23, 2008 12:09 AM  | Hide replies

I think Major Ravi should limit his role to scripting and planning action sequences. Direction does not seem to be his cup of tea.

After working for around two decades for the Indian Army.
He became a military consultant for Indian films.

He has worked with Rajkumar Santhoshi(Pukar),Kamal Haasan(Aalavandan),Mani Ratnam(Kannathil Muthamittal).

His first feature film is Mohanlal starrer Kirtichakra. Also, brought applause from many corners and it was a super hit.

His second movie "mission 90 days" was his own experience of the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination case. The film was technically perfect. But,since the story was known to all it had few takers.

His next movie as mentioned is "Kargil" and it has mohanlal, sunil shetty, and atul kulkarni.
While lal and shetty is known.

Atul Kulkarni is a two time national award actor from karnataka. He acted in kamal hassan's Hey Ram, hindi movies "page 3", "chandni bar",and "rang de basanti".

So far he directed only two films, his first film was a hit and it proves his directorial strengths and so does his second movie.

Give him time and like any other first time director.

Seems you do not know abt kamal and lal, so don't start an argument for the sake of arguin.

Also, if you don't like kamal and lal, thn ther is no reason for you to comment either.

If you can't say something positive, thn don't say anything at all.

It would be double torture if hindi films goes to to international film festivals.

If any1 asks me to translate hindi from seeing those movies, i would just plainily say,"Je suis francaise, je ne comprend pas hindi"

the shame of Kandahar
by Anita Ram on Feb 22, 2008 08:31 PM  | Hide replies

Khandahar incident will forever remain a slur/ disgrace/shame/botch in the annals of independent India - it only proved that when it came to action, our govt is absolutely impotent - had the same thing happened with an Israeli passenger plane, by now everyone involved wud have not only been executed, the prisoner wud have never been handed over by their govt - instead the plane wud have been raided and the passengers saved - but then Israel does not have a bunch of intellectual leftist idiots who wud have opposed it - in India, we have morons who wud rather see the country disgraced over time and again and still want it to continue! kudos to Major Ravi - I only hope it happens, since Kamal and Lal wud do ample justice to such a storyline and knowing Kamal well, there will be some mind-boggling deeply thought-out lines as in Kurudhippunal - and I also hope the Hindi version has Kamal too - why shd Bollywood be denied the chance of watching this genius perform in a movie which is about an incident that should remain in our memories forever

I agree with you. But this movie should be dubbed in all languages in india despite being a malayalam-tamil film.

I don't see any reason for major ravi to chose any hindi actor to do the roles.

Lal's performance was great in company, good in aag-atleast for lal and not for rgv and big b.

Audiences in hindi did not accept kamal's hey ram and neither mumbai express. Even though, those two films are directed by kamal himself.

So if the director plans to make it hindi, he should stick to kamal and lal so tht hindi audiences will again have a chance to see these actors.

Atleast do you do know om puri, nasserudin shah, tabu. Atleast do you flock to theatres to watch a film which has irfan khan, kay kay menon, ajay devgan films.

No you are only intersted in big b, junior b,srk, aamir khan, salman khan.

Just for satisfying the millions of srk, salman, big b,hrithik roshan fans.
All those grt actors have to make comedy/action films to be as popular as these superman, muscle so called actors of bollywood.

combination of actors.....
by s kumar on Feb 22, 2008 05:34 PM  | Hide replies

as per the story line it is about khandar incident...major ravi should include some versatile actors from bollywood also....perhaps ajay, aamir etc.would match with lal & hasan..It will make a great chemistry...

Yep.
Ajay devgan alrdy did two films w/mohanlal.
I would rather choose om puri and paresh rawal.

Even aamir knows kamal and lal quite well.

Admit paresh is comedian, but he himself has reached the saturation point now of doing comedy roles.
