The name Walt Disney evokes respect and admiration world over for quality films in both the animation and live action categories.
The latest news is that Walt Disney in association with Bharath Bala Productions will be producing a film in English titled '19 Steps'. The backdrop of the film would be martial arts and world audiences will get a taste of some exquisite Indian forms of combat like Kalaripayattu.
Kamal Haasan is slated to play a veteran Kalaripayattu expert who takes it upon himself to train a young Japanese man. Popular Japanese star Tadanobu Asano will play the young man and the story would revolve around his quests in life. Asin is to play a character most actresses around the world would die for….a local princess and a martial arts expert who finds herself falling in love with the Japanese lad in this period film. The film also traces the roots of Kalaripayattu.
The movie is expected to be filmed with a budget of $50 million and will have versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Japanese.
The story of the film is based on veteran Malayalam scriptwriter M. T. Vasudevan's earlier work. The writer is one of the highly respected personalities in India winning five National Awards for screenplay writing. However, Hollywood writers have been appointed to work on the script to make it compatible to international standards.
The film will be directed by Bharath Bala and will have music by A. R. Rahman.

After all the opening hype and controversy Rajinikant starrer Kuselan is struggling at the box office. The movie, which opened to full houses, has already seen a huge drop in collections. But it seems it may not be entirely Rajinikant's fault.
Theaters in Chennai, which are known for Rajini mania, no longer display a house full board.
Kuselan has already seen a 50 per cent drop in collections. Such a drop is something unusual because usually a Rajini movie is a virtual guarantee for success in the first few weeks.
Most moviegoers rue that Kuselan is not about Rajinikant.
“Sivaji was completely about Rajini so we cannot compare that with Kuselan. Here he only has a guest role,” While the super star plays only a guest role, Kuselan was hyped like a full length Rajinikant film and that many believe led to too many expectations. Making it worse for the distributors was the fact that Kuselan was sold at prices that rivaled Rajinikant's super hit Sivaji.
The lukewarm response at the box office is already bringing back memories of Rajini's 2002 flop Baba. Then the super star even paid back distributors for their losses but Kuselan may not be his fault entirely.
The producer and the distributors are desperately hoping that the film would pick up in the next few days, at least in smaller towns and rural areas. But for the moment a shaky Kuselan looks nothing like a superstar's superhit film.

Truly the greatest actor indian cinema has ever produced has to be MOHANLAL. his sheer versatility, un matched screen presence, severe underplaying of emotions, comedy whether be it Slapstick or Subtle, Vanaprastham(phenomenal, ahs to understand the art of kathakali, the most difficult art to perform, learned by artists for a minimum period of 14 years and expressions are made using movements of facial muscles), the utterlook of helplessness on his face is way too ahead of all actors we ever produced... His skills are inborn and he never had to perfect it anywhere.

I really pity you that no one commented your post. I think you sould have spent the whole day for this post. But, you cant force people think the same way you think.
What ever you like, is your vision. Dont force them.
Kamal is a guy who always wants to do some thing that no one has done before. Right from Sappani character, Appu, Moondram pirai, Naayagan, Pesum Padam, MMKRasan, Indian, Avvai Shanmugi, HeyRam, Alavandhan, A lot of comedy movies in between.
Tell me who has done such a variety of movies in Indian cinema? He has failed many times and succeeded even more. He still will try hard.
There is no comparison for him. Check all the actors you mentioned in your list. Have any of them took any risk in their entire career? One good example please. I will touch your foot and appoligise to you.
They are all good actors who never tried any thing that is risky and followed what others do.
But not Kamal. Praise him atleast for his EFFORTS, that NO ONE HAS EVEN GUTSY ENOUGH TO GIVE IT A TRY.

also the villanous roles he essayed in movies like uyarangalil and karimbinpoovinakkare was too cold bloodish and one can wonder what a glorious actor this guy is....
the roles mohanlal glorified happened coz of the golden era of Mallu cinema.. the directors, the scrippts, stories, music, co actors... it was a gettogether of the best of the best.... thats Teamwork

Of the South Indian stars of his generation, Mohan Lal is certainly the best, he's a class act, and effortlessly does comedy, art, classics, mass movies. Kamal Hasan is very close.. he is a better dancer. Kamal may even have been better if he did not act in bunch of meaningless masala movies. Rajani and Chiranjeevi have tons of charisma.
Actually it's futile to compare these big stars. Each has his/her own speciality.

I agree.Mohanlal is the best in Indian cinema industry.His movie Onnaman was a class act.which was followed by college kumaran,thandavam,Ali bhai,Vamanpuram Bus route,Flash..list goes on..Mohanlal is a decent actor.that one must agree.But an actor should also maintain his body to make his move easy and convincing in screen.I wonder how the poor mallus managed to watch the both oldies for so long?may God bless mallus:-)

We people buy lot of Groceries from Reliance. Do we expect the Ambani's to pay the Profit to the Poor People? No.
Same Way, What we pay to the Cine Industry is only for the Entertainment they provide us. And more importantly Kamal Hassan do not have any Stupid fans like Rajnikanth. Otherwise, all of his movies would have become a Block-buster.
If 150 crore, really bothers you, then you must target the Financiers, who does no job but get lot of interest money.
