It was altogether a very diff movie with superb acting led by Madhuri (who is so different and acting comes so easy to her) and also the whole bunch of actors who where there. The last half hour "Nautanki" was brilliant and that is again the usp of this movie. whole dance sequence were so nice that you wud like to watch them again n again. I feel, Raja sen is a person who always fails to understand a different kind of movie. On the whole it was a feel-good movie. When i went to the theartre i was thinking that since it is a woman-oriented movie there will so much "rona-dhona" n all but to my sheer surprise nothing like that. I won't say that it's a master-piece but it's a good movie and everybody shud enjoy this.........if not they might have some personal hatred for Madhuri thats why they are continuously saying nonsense abt the movie and Madhuri.....even Newyork Times have said that Madhuri looks sexy in the movie even today....

I agree with you Raajiv!
Movie is really great and I am not sure why each critic has criticised this movie. The theme is great with some great performances of all the actors (without the wastage of anyone's talent) and overall presentation is too good- esp tha last 40 minutes of musical drama is treat to watch.
I saw this movie with my friends and all of us enjoyed this movie. The Best part is to watch Madhuri who is equally stunning as she used to be in 90's. Her acting and dance performances are too good!
I am surprised to see the comments from Rediff and must say to all the readers that don't go on critics' comments and go and njoy this movie.

all khans are useless fellows these days !!! saif ali khan - lost his image due to relation with kareena kapoor..... salman khan - always there in hit-n-run cases shah rukh khan - cheap publicity done for promoting a film, which gives him a big insult by cricket media. amir khan - lost his image due to his cruel behavior to his brother....

we r damn interested in there peronsal life, as far as acting is concerned khans are the best and in look wise no one can beat them. so, rewati dont behave like rasicst, accept the truth, neither khan nor anyone is coming to you give you anything, just njoy
I went and saw the movie yesterday after reading his assessment. As expected the movie was opposite. I guess Raja takes money to opinionate else he could not have always been away from teh mark. A stunner and a superb film it was. He is naive. Should be banned from film review. Perhaps yash raj does not pay him.

u r right. i watched the movie and i was shocked at Raja Sen's assessment of the movie. except the drama at the end of the movie, the rest of the movie made us enjoy like anything.. gr8 dance and natural acting by all the stars !!!! worth watching once !!!
Aaja Nachle is awful. It comes across as a very amateurish film, with poor script, okay-dokey performances, shoddy production values (so much for a Yash Chopra production) and above all, bad direction by cameraman-turned director turned Anil Mehta.
In spite of Madhuri's usual bright smiles and dance moves, you can't sit through the movie. It's time these so-called prestigious production houses stopped taking the audience for granted.

Add Tara Rum Pum Pum to this list too.
And with Neal and Nikki (last year), what were YashRaj studios thinking? Hope Karan Johar learns a lesson or two wakes up and comes up with a good movie next year.
Yes the movie relies on madhuri but I found Kunal, Konkona, Ranbir, Vinay, Jugal, Sushmita all plaing their respective roles to perfection. The movie is thoroughly enjoyable and tugs your emotions at the right places. If you love dancing (any form) this is a movie you will curse yourself for missing. The climax dance show is a visual spectacle. Enjoy the movie; Madhuri is back.
Madhuri is a very beautiful star but she is looking old and sounding old. Only her dance is intact. While Hema and Rekha can look so good when they are in sixties and when Sridevi looks so good when she is a contemporary of Madhuri, why madhuri looks so worn out? It must be her eating habits or her westernised style of living may be. She may not be really happy and that may be showing on her aged face. What others say?

I agree. Madhuri's age (42) shows on her face, crow feet et al. I don't know how she looked in Colorado prior to acting in this movie, but methinks the Chopras made her lose so much weight as part of the contract that she has ended up looking wafer-thin, pale and unhealthy.
