Yes that is true. I judged it on my scale and i am saying that every celebrity shd take a long break after his or her sucess so that the fear of loosing the stardom shd strike again and gives a boost to do something extraordinary

dear friend-hatred is no solution for mistakes.I do not understand why you try to spend time highlighting khans and trying to show they are different. Our thoughts are more poisonous than some stupid movie called saawariya. If shahrukh did well it will play or it will not-it does effect his stature-as it was not created by media. We should respect indivuduals who have come by hardwork and not pushwork-lets celebrate true success achieved truly.India has place for only securalists not fundamentalists-there is a huge garbage dump on our western border for those who want to see everything through religious picture
The film tries to send us in the age of Cindrella or stories we would have thought while too young.. Like ek tha raja or thi rani... But its dull, the plot is nothing, endless songs ( I know how it feels to hear a song every min - It Pains). Acting is ok. So my conclusion don watch this, its waste.
Watch it... its a must see... i donno why the people are critisising too much... The songs were awesome, the climax, the sets, the lighting effects, music, casting, everything was rocking.... Hats off to bhansali
Bad reviews are catching like fire. Seems that the word of mouth has already ruined this movie's earnings. Let us hope that Ranbir and Sonam get their due atleast if not a hit.
Watched the movie in a theatre in Delhi, exactly 27 people there for the third show on the first day of release. Either the bad review has gotten so fast or they are just celebrating Diwali, I dont know.
No claps, no laughs, people seemingly so eager to get away from their seats and go out into the smoke filled cold night air. I wasn't surpised. The movie is a bore, no doubt about it. The songs interspersed at the most inopportune moments when we die there to get the stuff over with, Sonam's kiddy laugh (no offence, but found so weird in the bluesy atmosphere), isolated streets (much like the empty film house), city painted like a faded water color portrait, 24 hour nights, changing water levels, so many technical goof ups....I cant count more. Movie is so unreal and detached from world, I wonder how such soul less unreality can ever be conceived by "ur gr8ns Bhasali Bhai". Gulabji was authentic (minus those aweful extras). Plus the grandmother was lovely.
Friends if you dont want to ruin your diwali with a damp squib like this. avoid this.
If you like to watch this, then watch it for Ranbir and the old ladies. And also for one lovely Eid song, nothing much.
I would like to seriously know who are these reviewers/critics who show up in such large number nowadays like earthworms wiggling out in mud during monsoons...lol Does the press have some kind of certification course for all its backbenchers (who apparently do not perform well in serious journalism) titled ,'Learn how to become a Critic without any experience or credibility in the Film Industry' My point is not just about Raja Sen, Aseem Chhabra, Arthur J Pais, Sukanya Verma ( who I hope have some credible experience as 'Film Critics') but also the host of other 'critics' on so many other Indian websites who think they can comment and review a movie with a pen in hand and a highly questionable portal giving them the space to vomit out their good and bad stuff! Other than Khalid Mohammad (TOI critic previously) and Kunal Kohli (Zee TV) none of the other names are remotely related to the industry. Even a well deserving critic like Khalid Mohammad failed miserably while making his movies - both content wise as well as Box office wise. And Kunal Kohli- what about him? He have us absolutely unrealistics like Fanaah( which was unfortunately a box office hit only due to Aamir Khan and Kajol) and Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (shameless hollywood copy and BO disaster) So please keep your over zealous pens away for a while and get your hands dirty in film making , before you rubbish or even praise the movie, when you are in no position or have no credibility to do so.

whatever yo might say and however you might try to justify.. the bottom line is.. its a movie gone horribly bad ! and the public whu have to pay thru their noses to watch such crappy stuff have every right to express their views.. irrespective of whether u or I like it or not !
this is undoubtedly the worst movie i have ever been to....was out in 45 minutes finally after first thoughts creeping up in 10 minutes...waste of money and your time...i wonder how stupid the kapoors are to be launched in such shitty project...
