why these touring celebrities and film actresses in india is behind irradication of "AIDS". there are many other diseasing conditions and problems in india which is killing our people and there are many diseases to get attention and poverty is another problem which should get noticed. why these actresses and touring celebrities going behind "aids compaigns"? isnt the importance given to this feels "over".. these celebrities always wanna publicity..and since it is a "hot" subject they can do "hot" things on behalf of "aids compaigns"..like gere-shilpa incident. see during these years of media development MTV is also interested to fight against "AIDS" only. they can show some "hot Bodies" on behalf of these..what nonsense? why they dont take initiatives to cure other diseases and irradicate it. these nonsense and "hot" celebrities only know to hurt our culture and common mans reputation and culture. if they wanna "HOT" always..why they show it to others?..do it in private as their wish. shame on these celebrities. surely they were showing "FAkE" committment.. can these celebrities be like Holy Mother teresa, who did sacrificed all her life with a "real" committment espacially her immense kind and boldness to help even leprosy patients.do these non sense and cunning celebrities can take a patient with a disease like leprosy in their arms and attach to their heart?..no way..only divine persons do it. mother teresa didnt needed any stage progrmas nd "kissing" episodes to do her duty and niether she tried to get any media fame from public to do her duty..and niether she hurted any culture and neither did any "shows" . i think these cunning and showy celebrities should notice holy mother's life atleast before do anything in the name of "social service"...
i think the problems with these celebrities is that they are not marrying at right time.. please do that first ..
i wonder gere has any thing to tell other than these "hot" things...and shame on these indian celebrities who inspires him more...bla bla..

I dont think that we both have any rights to critisize Gere... Even if it is for publicity as you allege he is doing some nice work... As of the other diseases you told i dont think there is any other disease in the world currently which is spreading more faster than aids and to add to it the fact that there is no known cure for it makes it more deadly...
So i think that we should applaud for all the good things being done regardless of it being for fame or sincere effort...
People like Mother Theresa are not born every day my friend....
Nor are celebrities like Richard Gere who come all the way across the world to do somehting good...
Before everyone start criticizing RG in an inappropriate way just read the question that he was subjected to answer. Anyone in the right sense of mind could answer in the same way.

We need to be a little more broad minded. He has been helping our country in whatever small way he can, of course there is AIDS is US, but there are lots of charitable organization in US to help their country men. In India, the rich dont even turn back and look at another poor indian. In such cases whateven Gere is doing is commendable, he is defnitely doing more than all of us who are commenting on this column, I think we can criticize someone only if we have done something good ourselves.
