its sad the way u people write these messages here....i have watched big brother here for the first time in my whole life here in the uk and never have i seen any indian have so much of dignity and pride to be an indian such as shilpa....she was decent and well mannered she spoke of india with so much of respect etc...and in the end she won...she fought a battle alone in the big brother house where no one came to help her from all the bullying and bitching and racist comments.....that just goes to show you how much we indians suffer here in the uk day in and day out....british people consider us illiterate and uncultured....but shilpa came and showed the whole uk how intelligent and mannered we indians are...and now british people look up to us and have changed the way they feel about us....all i can say is WELL DONE SHILPA !!!!..IT TOOK SHILPA JUST 26 DAYS TO CHANGE WHAT BRITISHERS THOUGHT OF US . a battle well fought and right to the very end untill victory was achieved. by vanessa
i really pity the ppl who r criticizing her as they r feeling jealous or they havent seen the videos..in UK all have seen how much she had suffered and she coulnt walk out because of show format. its easy to slap a person bt difficult to b calm and composed whn majority housemates r hating you. its really difficult to live with ppl of different cultures..and abt fame and money who doesent work for money and fame comon guys accept the reality all wnt opportunities...is it only the right of ash and amitabh to go international..y cant we appreciate and encourage other artists too..and y u expect her to go on intellectual shows comon she bollywood heroine y would she go on intellectual shows..its her choice comon...and u say whr she shd spent money ..y u ppl dont ask bacchans and khans who earm more money whr do they spend...comon aftr 15 yrs shes earned somethin u shd appreciate....plz and show has become hit bcz of shilpa...hats of to shilpa who presented asia and india in a very dignified way....in UK all r proud of her...i thnk indians need to appreciate their own ppl otherwise lk all other intelligent people ppl of india would go abroad and settle.....grow up guys....

To Anjan Hajra and the likes,
I don't know which world you guys live in..from where I come, people who do well are praised and admired.
Shilpa Shetty has done what no Indian has been able to do. She has taught the British public how to behave, how to conduct yourself gracefully.
Intentionally or unintentionally, she has exposed the hidden racism in the british society and also shown the way to deal with it without loosing self respect.
Also, she has shown that the very people who brought english language and culture to India have forgotten it themselves. She has taught them a humbling lesson in their own game, in their own backyard.
She deserves all the fame and money which comes her way. So, stop pulling down fellow indians who do well. Be Proud of her!!

Now a days I am observing, people don't have least courtesy for wishing the people who are doing good(I know every person is not Gandhi or HarisChandra.There is always some personal gain in doing a thing otherwise you will be begger) and if someone does something good and presents good themselves as good( that also need some wit and inner strength, why Jade Goody and Danielle Llyod cannot act, even they know that whole britain is watching them).
monkey thing is that yes she might have been insinuated,but then why didnt she walk out. My Indian PRIDE had been hurt. I would have saluted her for that. Popularity due to a cry sob fiasco,is injury to insult.

When an ex Ms World(ya know who) goes West, splurging her own hard earned cash on self publicity and PR and promotes herself shamelessly in a bid to get work there, we all feel proud about her making it to Time and Oprah and Letterman, etc
But when another Indian goes West, participates on a show, conducts herself with a lot of dignity and grace and wins the grand prize and earns immense admiration and respect all over, we scoff about it and call it hype.
While I do agree this issue might be blown a lil out of proportion and it is true Shilpa went there for money and fame, but one cannot change the fact that Shilpa has earned this and deserves credit for her conduct and the way she has represented India so well and in the right light. Someone around here summed it up well - we just dunno how to treat our heroes.

I dunno about others, but imo anyone who presents us, Indians, in a good light and earns respect and admiration for the right reasons is a hero.
And add to that the fact that Shilpa has donated all of her prize money to charity of her own choice in India.

Agree with u completely...She has carried herself far far far better than the way Aishwarya has represented India abroad... May be both of them did it for their own careers, films or what ever..but shilpa represented an indian woman better than ash does..atleast she wasnt fake
