nice one

I absolutely loved Don...A dark, fast-paced movie with minimal background music and stylishly executed scenes. No melodrama whatsoever.SRK at 40, looked energetic in Khaike Paan song..can't believe it.He played the bad charater very well. Thanks, Farhan for the entertainment.I am certainly going back.
People need to get over with Amitabh. We all respect his contribution. But now we have a new DON.

Options are limited with NRIs

Abroad territorial marketing is best done by SRK, some small budget excellent movies can not afford to go abroad that doesnt mean they are bad. In usa or uk, Indians are hungry to watch Indian movies in theatres, but mostly all SRKs movies are being released in USA and UK. Out of many big hit movies in 2006 sofar only 4-5 were released in USA and UK. People are going to watch because they have no choice. If one wants to watch for example Omkara in USA, they cant because no theatre would release it but that doesnt make it a bad movie.

Why people are getting personal?
by garima on Oct 26, 2006 08:09 PM

I think it's a matter of personal choices.

I think that Jaan-e-Man is a very good movie with respect to an entirely new kind of direction and story narration.I think Indian audiences everywhere in the world will slowly watch Jaan-E-Man and appreciate the new genre. It might seem as the very old love triangle but in reallity it's the freshest concept right now.
There is no comparison between these two movies.I think the article says the right thing but in a wrong manner.Bollywood should take care of the fact that it's difficult to watch 2 big banner movies together and both movies are bound to loose some business due to each other.
I personally liked Jaaneman as I have watched the old Don many times recently. So I wanted to see something new.
Jaaneman has a soul. The story ,fun and sentiments linger with you even after several hours.(I don't want SRK fans to be personal here .But I don't like the way Rediff has not changed it's main headline box for 5 days which says DON Beats JAANEMAN and says JAANEMAN is a bizarre movie.I have read it's reviews in Jaaneman's favour as well but they never showed in the headline box.I think media should be impartial and post headlines carefully)

DON Kaun??
by dp on Oct 26, 2006 05:50 PM

hey!

I just happened to see the NEW DON..
and i must say....what everyone says is true...
Shahrukh sucks big time...He looks like more of the Gay types...he really has over acted in the film, rather Hammed. Long time after ive seen any hero hamming. All style no acting. I feel sorry for Farhan... a classic movie wasted. Now i feel some one should really cast good heroes like Abhishek, Akshay or Hrithik for a Don type movie. Shahrukh is only good for good(@@) role movies. Comparison was bound to happen. He should have known. He is nowhere near the Real Don - Aby. Even Amitabh could have done justice to new don in this age. Shahrukh is justa star no actor.Over facial Expressions. Felt as if this Don would have been better even if Devananandji would have done it.

I had a sleeplees nite after seeing Don.
And press is promoting it as a Hit. Wake up!!!
Jaaneman was much better than Don.

Script , music & locations damn good ..but shahrukh sucks again. Hope next time Farhan keeps stud people like Akshay & Abshikek in mind. Keep their versatility in mind and not starship.

regards

its slick, stylish. But boring with lots of tags hanging loose and unanswered. We have known Amitabh as Don, and Shahrukh, no matter how good he is doesn't even score 2nd place.Haven't seen Jaaneman, so dunno.

Amitav Vs ShahRukh
by Sree on Oct 26, 2006 05:05 PM

One should always appreciate new remakes of the old and what new directors try to give us.Farhaan akhtar is no doubt a wonderful director staying away from cliche subject matters and making flicks like Dil Chahta Hai and Lakshya, both having something new as subject matter. So whenever he had planned in making remake of a good old movie of the 70's, he must have something in his mind, may be which we are unable to judge. As far as acing of Big B Vs SRK is considered I think both are two sides of a coin, different in their own ways, but both are great and uncomparable. Big B had an advantage of acting in the movie earlier, so SRK had to imitate him in some palces and so is being a subject of controversy. Since Big B's Don was earlier there had been no comparison to. But I think both are GREAAAATTT...
