I witnessed the finale and around 10 previous shows of Sa Re Ga Ma at San Francisco , USA alogwith my wife ,my son and a few families of Indian origin(hailing from Andhra, Delhi, J&K,Gujrat and Maharahtra)who are residing in our building (Carillon Towers, 1100 Gough Street , San Francisco )having 120 apartments. It is opined by all the viewers that the judgement of Zee TV in declaring Debojit as winner and Vineet as looser is UNFAIR and calls for a review of the very procedure of basing the judgement on the SMS from public.
According to me India ki voice is Vinit as he got equal votes from all segments, whereas Debojit can be declared as Assam ki voice. I do agree that Debojit has good voice and when compared to singing he is on scale with Vinit, but he cannot be declared as India ki voice. This just shows the flaw in voting system in this shows. There needs to be dilution between the votes and the past performances on 50:50 basis, as the first 50% will be from professionals.
Again the voting pattern was so wrong that a guy like kaazi won the Fame Gurukul, then why cannt Debojeet win SaReGaMaPa. Infact he is better than Kaazi.
Debojit won because the premise of the show was public voting. But, the most gifted, talented and consistent singer was only Vinit. He had greens all the way through and his consistency was mantained from the beginning till the end without faltering even once. ( even all the other talented singers faltered 1-2 times throughout the show) Plus his music touched your soul every time and he did things with his voice that were tremendous and extremely powerful. It\\\'s like giving the student who got 100 percent on all his grades no job and instead giving the person who got 70% the job. It\\\'s very sad and unfair. Plus Debojit won by a margin. The organizers should have given Vinit an appropriate second prize. Now, all Vinit fans who appreciated him for his talent feel absolutely betrayed!
Regarding who is better then whom,i dont think that any of the bloggers here really know abc of music apart from loving listening songs.So its wrong to say that Debo was Good Or Vineet was Better.Actually each and every finalist had enough potential to fight and judging them can be done only by people who really know music and its wonders.These all contestants have been working so hard everyday to be perfect in their sur-taal,but how many of us really know a bit of music.Just by listening to their voices how can we judge who is better then whom.We all have favourite singers and then their are some who hate the voice of our favourite singer,so does that mean that he/she is good/bad.Their would be so many people who go crazy to hear shaan's voice wherein many may not like his voice at all,so is he bad/better then any other singer.We have different choices when it comes to our favourite actor/actress then how can we judge singers when we really dont know much about singing.So moral of the story is that this public voting was wrong all together.And yes as many bloggers have written we really have to be rich to show our support towards a particular singer.
Many bloggers have written that everybody agreed upon public voting.So on this u have to think that this decision was totally taken by Sa Re Ga Ma team and Zee Tv and it was not the general public who played any part in deciding about the procedure.So their is no question of support for public voting or not. But yes since Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is a show that is known for its qualitative and healthy competition that has given so many singers to industry,it was expected this time also that who ever will be the winner would be best in everybody's eye and not a question of debate.Shreya Ghoshal,Kunal Ganjawal are a major contribution to music world and their selection was totally based on their talent.It was the highly talented masteros who played a part in deciding that they were the real winners and not by ordinary public who judges a person based on emotions more then the quality.Since all the contestants have devoted their heart and soul to this competition,they deserved much more then this regional voting system and not to be out because their region couldn't give enough votes in comparision to some other region.Its not about Debo or Vineet,its about a genuine singer.
The view making rounds among many is that Debojit could win only because, east zone was overwhelmingly behind him and voted for him in huge numbers. And as the east was biased on regional lines, the voting system is faulty! But isn't it true that the north also voted more for Vinit than for Debojit. So wasn't the north also equally biased? Therefore the fact is that both the zones were biased, but the east backed their boy more passionately than the north. There is certainly nothing wrong with it. Another impression is that Debojit's home town Silchar voted in such huge numbers that it tilted the scales in Debojit's favour. Here are a few points to ponder-- 1. Silchar is a smaill town of hardly 200,000 people. 2. Until, last month BSNL was the only mobile service provider. 3. There are hardly 2000 mobile users in the whole town 4. Broadband internet has not reached there. An erratic telephone dial up internet service works there. So, can a town of such size ensure the victory of a competitor in a national contest?
This debate over who winning the competition would have been their in any case.Since every individual will have liking towards a particular contestant.But this liking was streamlined slowly towards regional diffrences.Its not the matter of Debojit or Vinit,if u look back u will notice that until we viewers were told that a particular contestant is getting so and so percentage of votes we really were judging people according to their performances.Once Ujjaini was out and it was just 5 finalist left (Debojit,Vineet,Hemachandra,Nihira and Himani) with every episode we were being told about the percentage of votes a particular contestant has got from all the zones.Ever since then,one by one all the contestants became the victim of this regional voting system. It was not only Vineet who lost the competition because of the regional voting.Ever since these 5 were left it was never Debojit standing in last two contestants,out of which 1 will be out based on minimum votes.Debojit getting max votes from East zone that was overshaddowing all other votings from all other zones.So first it was Nihira,then Himani followed by Hema who became victim of this regional voting.
Well congratz to Debojit for winning the contest. But one major loophole was that he got the most votes from North-East. But Vinit as per was voted throughout India. U can imagine that who was the real winner.
