Golmaal - the best of Hrishikesh Mukherjee
by Kausik on Aug 29, 2006 12:20 PM

It is undoubtedly Golmaal. Hrishida and Utpal Dutta gave a new dimension to the comedy thru this picture which is till date unparallel. It is indeed a great loss to the indian film industry.

To me all films are quite humorous and lively. But the best film is Anand. The terrific performance of Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bacchhan. This film is quite close to my heart. It is one of the finest art of Hrishikeahji.

Chandru Khatri
favourite movie of Hrishida
by Chandru Khatri on Aug 29, 2006 12:10 PM

Anand: A great movie, which tells about a cancer patient, who knew he is going to die, but lives his life till death. A movie whose lat 15 minutes were really inspiring. I still remember 'Ai maut tu ek kavita hai, mujhe pata hai tu milegi mujhko' and subsequent dailogues of Rajesh Khanna, are woth seeing again and again.

Golmal: A genuine comedy and entertaining film.

Bawarchi: A film which was totally different. Maker of Hero No 1, tried to copy, but not to the standard of Hrishida.

Chupke Chupke: A great comedy and presentation

Dear Hrishida, all your above films are evergreen movies, and I will continue to see them, whenever I get chance, till the rest of my life.

mukesh
my favorite film of hrshida's
by mukesh on Aug 29, 2006 11:52 AM

though he could be counted as the most influential director to indian cinema after likes of bimal roy, hrishida made common indian man a hero.i love all of his films be it anari,anand,chupke-chupke,golmaal.anamika or khamoshi.but the most impressive creation of his according to me was "anupama" a film less known among film fanatics.it was just the superb.it portrayed human emotion in a subtle, tender way.love, anger, dilemma, goodheartedness were poured into it in an unique combination.everything in that movie was picture perfect.soulful songs, music and preformances were there to add fragrance to it.
our cinema would be indebted to this master story teller.

'Golmaal' is undoubtedly one of my all-time favourites. The genre of quintessential Indian humour finds a complete and wholesome expression in this film. The witty fun-ridden script depicting human emotions in an endearing flippant style, and, capturing fine nuances of middle-class sensibilities, and,the sterling performances of the two lead actors, the venerable Shri Utpal Dutt, and the unconventional but singularly talented Shri Amol Palekar, lend the film an outstanding quality. They both steal the show and unquestionably lift the film to the status of an intelligently-crafted family entertainer that will continue to appeal to and regale the Indian audiences across generations.
