For the past few years i've seen Aishwarya's acting improve tremendously. Today she is the best. Her acting is so much natural than it used to be in Aur pyaar hogaya and beauty is there from the begining. Well done!!! Ash's acting is damn good thats why people are comparing her with Meena Kumari. And I am preety sure that she will give her best shot in that film and the movie will be a big blockbuster. Aishwarya rai ,thpugh beautiful, does not have the depth of emotion and the haunting ,soulful looks of meena kumari.This role demands the expression of loneliness,suffering and yearning ,which Ash can never show on her face. Hers is a beauty fit for modelling ,certainly not for playing such a complicated role.
What is happening here ? Is there no limit to promoting a star ? Just cannot imagine Ash doin a Meena kumari. Ash is just a star, whereas Meena kumari was a star actress. I think you get the point here. Anybody can become a star and darling of the masses by appearing in a hit film or two. These days every Friday there is a superstar. But where are the real actors and actresses ? Ash has to go a long way in acting. Regarding the awards she has won, is there any credibality in them ? They are given just because they have to be given and everyone knows how they are given and hectic lobbying which takes place in selecting them. So please next time don't write that Ash or any of the present day stars has won many awards. Henceforth pl don't compare any of the present day stars with our immortal actors and actresses who have done us proud.

Incidently this was Wahida's last movie with Guru Dutt.
Aishwariya's acting can't match Meena Kumari's acting in any way. Her expressions are too superficial and she won't be able to portray that character as well as Meena did.
