What a question - will Ash make good Meena Kumari? In the begning there were creators - writers wrote stories and actors acted them out, giving life to the characters. There was always the word 'new' some where instead of 'remake'. It is like having basi food over and over again. If i want to watch 'Saheb bibi aur Gulam', i will watch the orignal thing - which is truly a master peice (and critically acclaimed).
Why can't Nanady, Ash and the whole band-a-wagon get their own story, do some serious work and make a real movie. Instead of walking with the help of crutches made of past glories.
Ash can only be beauty while Meenukumari was queen of talent as well as beauty. I think director shld not take her to make old classic movies. The worst thing in the film industry.
Whenever any topic about Aishwarya comes out in discussion,it is always that her beauty is talked about.She is first known for her beauty and then referred to as an actress.No doubt she can act,but she is definitely not a great actress.Her acting abilities will be revealed truly only when she acts in simple loose dress,and without any makeup not even a light shade of eyeliner or lipstick and with a very unattractive background,say a crowded place .

well all i would like to say is aishwarya is one of the worst actress to step foot in bollywood in recent times, and for her to enact roles played by great actresses is downright insulting to those actresses and from the viewpoint of the viewers it is plain torture to see her trying to act ,when most of the time she is justing pouting with her sunken cheeks. The only person capable of carrying out such roles with true emotions and talent is MANISHA KOIRALA.
i dont understand why this is debated at all?There is no comparison at all...Kahan Meena Kumari aur kahan Ash....Meena Kumari is The Queen of siver screen not just a beauty queen who cant act.

of the present lot i think manish koirala could do gr8 job with chotin malkin's character. her face oozes pain and vulnerability; besides she should'nt have problen doing drunk sceens. ash is too perfect and polished to play this character (like she did in devdas). i just hope deepa doesnt make her character look larger than life like bhansali.
