tax is not the real problem
by Indiantours nTravels on Feb 09, 2010 11:25 AM  Permalink

1) while levying tax it should be kept in mind what's the per capita income of country, current per capita income of India is Rs 38,084 (Per capita income is usually reported in units of currency per year).

2) People who are in favour of tax exemption should keep in mind that if they are earning more, that doesn't mean they shouldn't be taxed as its same thing as accumulating essential commodities of country, the point should be to divert the tax money in the right direction. Govt. should see that money should be spread equally in the country. If they are taking tax on income it should be diverted in the right direction.

3) Today every second person is having more than 1 house and more than 1 car. People who own excessive property like more than 1 house, more than 1 car should be levied more tax and tax money should be diverted towards providing the same to people who don't have that.

4) Food, Cloths and House should come under essential requirements of citizens of India and it should be made sure to provided to each citizen of country.

5) Govt. should encourage private sector to setup industries in the areas like Bihar, UP, Orissa and adjoining areas of metro cities etc. If more education opportunities, more employment opportunities and more business is in other areas than metro cities then 50% of problems of countries can be solved.

6) Govt. should be careful for Old people who don't have shelter and income. Today congress has introduced pension schemes but its amount

1. THe Hospitalisation Insurance does not have Insurance cover for people above 80 or 85 years of age. Honestly teh Central Govt has given various benefits top Sr. Citizen but since Insurance company fails to cover these citizen I request the FM to allow Rs. 5.00 lakhs towards expenses to be deducted by the person spending the same.

2.The limit U/s 24 of the which allows deduction for borrowings should allow both the principal and dedcustion (instead of Principal u/s 80 C ) in computing Income under housr peoperty subject to a ceiling taht teh loss does not exceed Rs. 5.00 lakhs per year.

3. Similarly the FM must re-visit School fees which is now allowed under the overall Rs. 1.00 lakh limit U/s 80C of the IT Act. The FM wShould allow this as a seperate deduction without limits for 2 children.
3.Similarly people owing 2 cars or more as an individual or in case of an corporate ( Closely held) there should be a limit on cars. Otherwise a exepnditure tax should be invoked.
4.The CBDT Web site for answering on all matters more so on refunds needs to be having better speed etc., since as of now any one logging there will be given an ready made answer stating that teh volume is high or contact latter. A penalty clause should be imposed on the IT Departments as and when this site does not function all individulas , Corporate who so ever logged in should be compensated.
5. All It cases pending in Supreme court and awaiting judgements should be moved over to a seperate court.

Black Money
by asli mumbaikar on Feb 09, 2010 10:51 AM  Permalink

Whenever a property is bought the Registering authority shd ask for IT payment/return for last 3 or 5 years. If the IT paid is not enough then the matter shd be recorded and steps taken to inquire into tax evasion.

The IT return shd be revised to include :
Income minus expenditure minus savings = net taxable income. The savings must be built up over a period of time and this must be verified at the point of registration.

The registering authority must also be held responsible for reporting low value transactions in real estate/gold or valuables.Apart from this RA assets must be checked annually.

The Govt must fix min rates in each area and transactions below this must be taken over by Govt by paying 5% more.

Black money must be checked and local citizens must be given incentives to report recent sales, repairs to flats, costly gadgets purchased, etc.
