Income tax benifit on home loan interest
by Sanjeev Shrivastava on Feb 09, 2010 02:14 PM  Permalink

Income tax benifit on home loan has cap of 1.5L right now. I think this was decided long back when houses were not so expensive. Now in Gurgaon kind of place, prices are too high and we usually pay 2.5L or more as interest now. In my opinion, this cap should be increased to 3 Lac now.

Income tax

To avail of maximum exemption to senior citizens above 65 years of age should be abolished and all senior retired citizens above 60 years of age should be given the same privilege and this time exemption limit for senior citizens should be raised to 3.50lacs as prices of essential commodities and veg and non veg items has gone manifold and for this senior citizens are really under tremendious pressure as they have very limited income either from interest or pension which is almost fixed. Honbl'e finance minister is requested to consider the matter with his sincere approach. thank you.

Senior citizen classification should be from 60yrs.,because a central govt. employee superannuates on attaining the age of 60yrs.
