Introduce the Concept of Cost to Govt for Govt Employees.
by Indian on Feb 18, 2010 09:45 AM  Permalink

Sir,
Pls introduce the concept of Cost to Govt for each of Central/State/Public sector Govt employees.Once implemented review the performance of employees on Quaterly basis/Six monthly basis/yearly basis. The slary shall be based on 70% fixed and 30% varialble based on performance for DGM/GM above level. The job gaurantee for these employees should not be there and they should be subject to removal in the event of poor performance. This will bring efficiency in work force and any loss will be accountable to these gentlemen.
The ploce men should be given a better salary with a clause that in the vent of any corruption charges proved they will have to pay half of their cost to govt.
Judicial refoms need to be done.
Last but not the least the political interference in police should be avoided. There should be a national police commission to look into the police reforms and a national police chief to be in place.

In come tax.
by murty on Feb 18, 2010 09:07 AM  Permalink

May be that the government is able to get some collections from the income tax.But this is an iota of the tax which is due.So what is happening?Large amounts are still being evaded.this money not braught to the market by the evaders. This amount is being tucked away in houses ,Bank lockers etc.If this amount is braught to market a huge demand can be created, and investment in Industry can be seen. This only canbe done by exempting the income tax.Do it for two years saying that the government will not ask for any details.Inflation also can be controlled by other methods.

5 steps to freedom from corruption.
by jaggu on Feb 18, 2010 09:05 AM  Permalink

1) Transparency in Election funding : Election should be funded by cheque & fully taxable. All friend\'s/ Well wishers\'s assets used by politicians should be paid by cheque at commercial rates and VAT/Excise/Service tax/ IT etc should be recovered.
2) Govt must work on policy and defence. All that can be privatised should be done so. Eg Insurance companies can do better than the police( Touts) with issuing / checking driving license.
3) Kill VIP culture : All elected reps should stay in own houses and use own vehicles and licensed guns for security- for a fixed salary cost. They should also go to border to fight wars along side the soldiers.
4 ) Data accuracy : All citizen\'s IDs and all property data etc should be brought on a common reliable data system for transparency in recording of transactions.
5) Admin reforms: All bigger work should be done in 7 days including death sentence to terrrorists.Minor issues should be closed in 48 hours.

Ambanis are exempted from Tax paying
by cs india on Feb 18, 2010 01:14 AM  Permalink

From Mr Dhirubhai's time , Ambanis are not making proper income tax commensurate with their earnings.
Government should tax all these big corporates according to their earnings, rather than squeesing poor private and government employees.

The Question is Wrong.
by cs india on Feb 18, 2010 01:07 AM  Permalink

It is better to ask the minister how to do corruption without involving oneself directly. Ask him and other ministers ruling and opposition for some tutorials on doing corruption and making money illegaly.

by sunder iyer on Feb 18, 2010 01:03 AM  Permalink

The finance minister should exempt physically challenged from the levy of service tax .This is a social measure which will have negligible revenue impact but have large social value and can provide competitive edge to the handicapped

corruption and its mitigation
by Venkata on Feb 17, 2010 11:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Ensure Roti, Kapda and Makaan and health care for everyone. This will end corruption practices by simple living people who are presently are offering bribes to corrupt people in order to survive. This will make many people to live with self esteem and pride. then you try to handle who are doing corruption out of greed. And kill duality being practised everywhere e.g. a car maintenance claim in a company by an employee is not in true sense. Stop this practice. Remove all the exemptions under various heads. Straight away tax the income. Let people not resort to duality and corrupt practices. Let them live with pride. Then the rest would follow.

How to deal with corruption?
by priyabrata tripathy on Feb 17, 2010 11:28 PM  Permalink

1. Make bureaucrats accountable for their every act in office by strengthening RTI. RTI authority should be made at par with chief Justice of India.

2. The performance of all top Babus needs to be monitored
as corporate executives are monitored in corporates. Perform or perish should be the criteria for these babus.

3. Each Gram panchayat should have a committee formed by local elected representatives, members of a reliable NGO(properly audited)and intellectuals with apolitical views.

4. We Indians are suffering from a serious disease of selfishness. The growing middle class needs to be sensitized to bring the change in society, expected from it.

5. When I came to vote from Chennai to Odisha, My Project Manager laugh at me as nobody paid me for that. He was paid to vote. So, all is not well in private sector and all is not bad in Govt. sector.

6. Education is now so much commercialized that a student is forced to think about ROI based on money spent at school and marks obtained. How can one expect sensitive citizen from these business houses.
