Income tax exemption on Housing loan interest
by Vikas Bandal on Feb 02, 2010 01:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear FM,
Currently we are having the Income tax exemption on Housing loan interest up to 1.5 lac. Middle class people purchase the new HOME only once in their life time and this exemption should be kept for the coming years. (We heard that FY 2010-2011 might be the last year for such exemption)

Regards,
Vikas

Rather also include income tax exemption for principal component on the basis of actual amount of principle paid. Because 100000 Rs limit under 80C is too small to include principle repayment. This will help major home loan borrowers
I hope everyone will agree to this

LTA
by Swamynathan Balasubramanyam on Feb 02, 2010 01:34 PM  Permalink

Hello Mr Finance Minister
In a flat world it only makes sense to bring International travel under LTA ambit. This would enable people to understand other diverse culture whilst also taking advantage of the LTA schemes

The present concession ceiling of Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 75,000 for the disabled persons is quite inadequae. Could you raise this ceiling to Rs. 1,00,000.00 please?

PENALISATION OF ASSESSING AUTHORITY
by hari agarwal on Feb 02, 2010 01:31 PM  Permalink

ALTHOUGH IT IMPLEMENTATION IS HIGHLY LIBERALISED WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF SCRUTINY SYSTEM, THE ASSESSING OFFICERS HARASS A LOT TO THE ASSESSEE SO THAT THEIR DEMANDS ARE MET. THOSE UNWILLING TO FULFILL THE DEMAND GET PENALISED FOR NO GENUINE REASON AND THEY HAVE TO FIGHT THE CASE IN HIGHER FORUMS. i REQUEST THE FINANCE MINISTER TO INTRODUCE A PENALTY CLAUSE FOR THE ASSESSING AUTHORITIES THAT IF IN HIGHER FORUM, THE DEMAND IS QUASHED, THE ASSESSING OFFICER WILL HAVE TO PAY ONE TENTH OF THE DEMAND RAISED AND QUASHED IN HIGHER FORUMS TO THE ASSESSEE. THIS SHOULD BE APPLICABLLE PTO THE FIRST APPEAL STAGE. I HOPE THIS WILL PREVENT THE ASSESSING AUTHORITY IN MAKING ARBITRARY ASSESSMENT.

Income tax
by sanaullamb on Feb 02, 2010 01:31 PM  Permalink

Respected Finance minister,
Is the collection of income tax is targeted only to salaried persons of private & governament organisations????????????
Small shop owners who are earning an income of five to six thousand rupees/not accounting the transaction in a day & not paying tax even a single rupee. Can we expect govt. to think about collecting tax from these owners??
As you know verywell all household/daily consumable prices are shooting up without control except salaries
If we can refer the history ( just behind 20 to 30 years back) the % of tax exemption given in those days compared to now is very huge i.e the tax exemption offered in those days very huge
Please try to simlify the tax rules aboilish all sections consider total salry & fix the income tax based on this, with this we can avoid wastage of time, stationary confusion etc,
Thanks,
Sanaulla MB
