Income Tax for Salaried Class
by sundar rajan on Feb 02, 2010 11:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

To Hon'ble Finance Minister:

Please increase S.80C deduction to Rs.5 lakhs, or atleast Rs.3 lakhs from the existing Rs.1 lakh, so that people's savings may go up.

Similarly S.80D deduction for medical insurance premia may be increased to Rs.35,000 from the existing Rs.15,000, so that people may take a family insurance plan.

Please also increase the DCRG amount to an amount without ceiling, subject to the existing calculation.

Please also make Earned Leave collected in leave account, payable or encashable per year. This will ensure that the rampant taking of leave by Government Servants is drastically reduced.

Wealth Tax limit may please be increased to atleast Rs.50 lakhs from the existing Rs.30 lakhs.

Make it GREEN this time
by Satyabrata Dash on Feb 02, 2010 10:45 PM  Permalink

What we need this time is a a GREENER budget. That is anything the minister can do to run a GREEN climate campaign. We get tax benefits if we go for a home loan - this is to encourage citizens to invest in real estate infrastucture of the country. Similar norms should be in place for citizens to get more benefits for restoring the climate and all that will help save the environment. Education has been neglected - this needs focus again!!!

Control Inflation of Essential Commodities
by shubha srinath on Feb 02, 2010 10:42 PM  Permalink

Exports of food grain should be cut down drastically. Self sufficiency should be attained within a short period. Tax structure on exports of essential commodities should be made stringent. Middlemen should be brought into tax net in such a way that they should forget hoarding of commodities.
