Need Nothing For Self
by MK Hemkumar on Feb 04, 2010 11:35 AM  Permalink

Dear Mr. Finance Minister,

I wouldn't ask anything for myself; however, there are a couple of items which i feel is the immediate need of the hour. Please consider that these may not be limited only to the current budget but are expectations from your ministry in general:

(a) Have the UID project completed asap on a war footing, ensure that this is a fool proof system to denote the identity of any individual or body in the nation;
(b) With the great IT minds that we have in our nation, to build a fully efficient and highly sophisticated software to track all expenses, investments and financial transactions of each individual based on thier UID;
(c) Do a honest and thorough analysis of the cash flow, use eminent experts to offer their inputs on how the taxation system should be restructured/reorganised.
(d) Simplify Tax laws and here your motive should be to make is as simple, clear and transparent such that even an illiterate farmer is able to understand his obligations and rights under it;
(e) Please realise that most Indians are honest enough to contribute for the nations growth, but just that they are dissatisfied and with (i) the development that our country has seen in the past 60 years of independence, (b) frustrated with the several scandals and the way public money is handled by the governments. It should be of foremost imporatance that government gains the credibility of people by showing effective financial governance like how a CEO would do.

Reduce Tax Burden
by Sahasranaman Natarajan on Feb 04, 2010 11:10 AM  Permalink

Salaried class people are more taxed and they are the one who pay tax with out evading tax.
Bring all the small , medium business in tax net.
1.Old Age Medical facility
2.Old Age Pension scheme for all tax payers(During our Service we pay a lump sum of money and on retirment we are totally dependent on others even for our day to day living and medical expenses).
3. Inflaction is very high and therefore a variable factor on the tax calculation based on the inflation rate will reduce the burden on salaried class(apply this only for salried class)
