Some social security in lieu of IT deduction for Salaried people.
by Subhamoy Kar on Feb 04, 2010 03:22 PM  Permalink

Dear Sir,

I represent a large number of salaried employees of private sector. We do not have any post retirement benefit, e.g. pension, old-age healthcare etc. All benefits are merged into our annual income. As a result, we pay a substantial amount of income tax. Our saving is minimal because of soaring prices and we pay tax accurate to the last penny (Fringe benefit is also abolished).

Therefore, I request you to please consider some sort of assistance (especially medical) for those salaried individual who pay income tax above a certain threshold.

Thanking you,

With best regards,

Subhamoy Kar

incometax-payee need to be assured
by lalitkhanna on Feb 04, 2010 03:20 PM  Permalink

Income Tax payee annually is a revenue generator for the department. Taxpayee should be insured by the department for the Total income on which tax payer has paid income Tax in case of his death or permanent disability. it is the person who is paying Taxes has to support his family and further more the taxes paid by him can not be paid back to his family for suppot purposes either for education of children or maintenace of family. In view of that it is essential that income tax deptt, takes agroup insurance policy for the Taxpayers for the total incomr of return submitted for the benefit of tax payers.

Tax Issues
by Vikas Arora on Feb 04, 2010 03:03 PM  Permalink

Government has supported Industry during the time of recession time where as the common man was suffering from decrease in salary, price increase due to a very high inflation (specially food inflation), deferred increments etc. Though crude oil was hovering around $38 /barrel (down from $138 / barrel) for quite some time but the relaxation to common man was just Rs. 5 ( one tenth of a US dollor or 10 cents). Now that industry has stabilized, the tax paying citizens of India (specially working class who actually gets salary after tax deduction) should get the equal benefit from the government in terms of reduced tax rates, better saving benefits etc, social security infrastructure, medical facilities etc. FM should look into the issues of honest tax payers and give an easy over high prices and low / same incomes.

salaried class is an industry himself,The exemption given to a salaried person is not sufficient to maintain himself. He is not taxed on income like industry or firm but is Taxed on gross receipts. He ,is also a person in the hands of god who can leave his whole family behind without any support from any end and is not in the hands of mechanic who can restart it by repairing after silence. salaried class should also get the exemption of expenses like depriciation on the assets purchased by them as well as the expenses incurred in maintenance of the stature of that person. It is avarious serious matter which is ignored since the inception of income Tax.
