VAT should be removed
by gopi v on Feb 04, 2010 08:29 PM  Permalink

The main reason for hike in prices is imposing of VAT.
If VAT is removed it would be helpful for prices to come down.

Sir,please think it seriously
by om shanti on Feb 04, 2010 08:17 PM  Permalink

It is surprising that trillion of dollars of our politicians are lying in Switzerland banks unchecked and untaxed. Not only politicians are killing the common man with high inflation, increasing milk, petrol, diesel, electricity, water, eatable items prices, they are taxing them from many sides. Income tax is taken, property tax is taken. If you own a dog, you pay tax. If you buy a soap or a toothpaste, even the poorest of the poor pays tax. If there are 80 crores people who use soap for bathing or oil for using on body and hair, they pay taxes. Where does this money is going? Our politicians want to keep us poor, so that there are less congestion in city, roads, people from Bihar and UP do not migrate and this Congress party is no different from Thackeray.

This country cannot develop unless the consumer has buying power. Please reduce tax burden drastically.

Let there be decrease in prices in this budget
by tigpan on Feb 04, 2010 06:50 PM  Permalink

Mr Finance Minister,
Sir,
It has become difficult for the survival of common man(Aam Aadmi), hope you have not forgotten him. Its a known truth that there is always a price increase associated with budget, it happens before the budget and after the budget. The fact is that our Indian rupee is losing value due to price increase, it is felt by across all cross-sections of Indian population. People are still struggling with basic necessities even after 63 years of Independence. As a proud Indian our duty is to get everything affordable starting right from food, if we are able to save after eating then only our economy can grow, it shall be the real growth, whereas the growth figures what our country is projecting is negative taking into account the inflation rate. Dada please do something meaningful this time for Aam Aadmi and contain food prices. I am hungry.

by Jijeesh on Feb 04, 2010 06:13 PM  Permalink

As in may foreign countries, India should also consider number of dependenace for assessing income tax. There is no point in treat a bachelor and a person a 2-3 dependents.. At least this will help us to take care of our ld parents or elders for sake of tax saving... HUH??

Socialism never works. Taxing the heigher earning ppl and distributing to someone else will backfire as this results in too many ppl in the benefit receiving que.

Income tax should be abolished or should be kept at minimal level. This will make ppl to have good money in there pocket and this helps economy and creates lots of jobs.. and eliminates poverty.

More deductions under 80 C and housing loan interest should be provided to salaried people. The limit can be increased to Rs. 3 lacs.. these funds can in turn be used for infrastructure builiding. Government should also bring back the standard deduction which was provided salaried people as salaried people are one who suffer the most as they are not allowed any expenses to be adjusted against there salary income when compared to business people who evade taxes by booking ficitious expenses.

Due to devaluation of Rupee due to high inflation, standard deduction should also be increased from present 1,6 lakh to at least 2 lakh.
