Smriti should watch her weight. With the kind of weight she has put on, she will look like an obese aunty in any dress

Reading the Oath
by Jiten Das on May 28, 2014 10:48 AM

This man AJRP, while starting his Oath, even forgot to spell his own name. The President reminded him to tell him name after I...then only he spelled. Surprised how would he run the ministry.

Common sense matters the most
by on May 28, 2014 10:40 AM  | Hide replies

Lets not forget that Dhirubhai Ambani was not well educated and so were many great leaders. You have to have common sense and the right intent to work hard.

Congis' argument holds well if HRD minister has to teach a physics class herself and not where she has to supervise a system run through well educated team.

HRD Ministry
by c v sureshkumar on May 28, 2014 09:33 AM  | Hide replies

A minister need not have any such qualification and Cong or others fiddling with this issue is unwarranted. In fact, the work is being done by qualified IAS and other officers in concerned ministry and elected members come up only with offers-for-vote, without even studying the strength of the economy/government and spend lavishly. So, considering this fact, she is also fit for this job as the entire work of the ministry is done by qualified and able administrators, i.e., the so called permanent public servants

A Minister is a Minister that's all, and educational qualifications are not the matter, her administration through BUREAUCRATS matters.

HRD ministry is supposed to be one of the key ministry and experienced pperson having long political or social life should have been there. Just by contesting Rahul is the parameter or wearing bjp kamal saree is the qualification to have this post then got save this country. The best asset we have in todays world is HR and it seems it is least priority for modi govt

many CMs and cabinet ministers in the past were either uneducated or not even finished school. Some of em were outstanding politicians as well as administrators.

Just listen to Ms. Irani's english her knowledge on subjects like constitution etc. She deserves this post..even without proper education she is one of the best orators and outspoken politician in India.

Now...the Cambridger return rahul and Man mohan...what a failures.

Most of these highly educated fellows worked as chaprasis at 10 janpath and they are still doing it.

If education has no value scrape all qualifications for all non poltical posts also. Moreever, never campare the knowledge, capabilities of global economist, class Statesman like Dr Manmohan Singh with cheap TV star of Balaji who have distorted the pios husband-wife image by cheap seareals. What does she know about school education, higher education, technical education. Now these cheap TV stars will develop policies for highly learned teaching coommunity. Shame

The fact is that same BJP members were shouting for fixing a minimum qualification for candidates contesting elections in India, but now going on appointing ministers who have no minimum qualification. So its all drama & THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE.
