I had paid more than the due amount by mistake. I got a statement showing clearly that the excess payment is lying credited in their books. I have stopped using credit cards for now over 2 years. I have written several mails to them , but till date they have faied to pay me back the excees amount. They should noe return the same with interest which they charge from card holder for delayed payment plus an amount of Rs 500/- per month. Nothing has been done till date

Late receipt of bill cannot be a valid reason for late payment of the credit card bill. However, the credit card Companies also must realise that the card holder needs to keep on record the official bill for the IT purpose

CREDIT CARDS

I would say that the office i=of the credit card is at fault.Sending the bills in delayed format ids purely intentional just to squeeze the customer.

Let me tell you an instance. Having cleared one of the renowned Credit cardsa mail was followed up by me informs them of the same and clear instructions given not to renew my credit card. But the forcibly sent a credit card which was refused. I received a bill for a small amount showing insurance payable by me. Now whose fault is this. Credit card never replies back.

Dont pay the undue amounts. also, make it a point to scrutinise the statement thoroughly. if they dont respond in a fair amount of time, escalate the issue to banking ombudsman. they will come peeing in diapers.
