There is nothing wrong in this. The 'Re' in "Rishi' is a sound that is absent in Latin languages. So you have to find an equivalent. Pronounciation wise "Sanskrit" and "Sanskrut" are both incorrect pronounciations. If it was simply "ru" then the language wouldn't have needed a vowel for that.

Two aspects...
language and roman scripts, whereas you are pointing to the deficiencies of the roman script, I was pointing to wrong pronunciations introduced in the language itself...There is no way anyone can justify borrowing a proper noun in the wrong manner from another language, it's just laziness...

"Kri" in Krishna is pronounced same as in "Kriya". What's wrong here?
