While in DEMOCRACY everyone -including our all intelligent lawmakers - have a right to comment on everything & anything under the sun - I wonder whether they even give a small thought as to the MORAL authority they have for doing so !!! While IITs & IIMs have produced students of WORLD STANDARD - many of them outstanding achievers/contributors in their own fields (even though most of them leave the country due to derogatory conditions in our country be it law & order OR living OR for business and profession) -WHAT our lawmakers have to SHOW FOR 63 years of INDIA's independence.TALK of Mr.Jairam Ramesh's department - Indian environment conditions would be one of the worst in the world with dirt & filth all around !!!!!!
'Mr Ramesh, first become an IIT prof then react' SHAME -SHAME FUL ACT OF Mr.RAMESH . ITS MY OPINION . Last updated on: May 25, 2011 16:38 IST Leaders are always right as birth right, whether the subject is under stood or not is not the subject matter? but remain on the frame of TV print is non standard in Democracy as all maximum people sit on Dias where is one person in other countries only speaker will be on the stage. All Alumni to come together and file a suit against it / teach a lesson. The university must with draw the Degree if given by mistake.
Indian Govt set up IITs and IIMs with great ambitions. The students who manage to get admission in these institutions are brilliant. Such students pave their ways and make name for themselves and their institutes.
Let me tell you, an IIT or IIM student will shine even if s/he studies in any B grade institutes but entire set of IIT or IIM professors will struggle if they have to teach in a B grade institute.
Also IIT/IIM are known for their basic courses like B.Tech and PG Diploma where getting admission is toughest i.e. thru JEE and CAT. Nobody cares for an M.Tech from IIT or any other course from IIM. So if teachers were to make a difference, the other courses should be at par.
So brand IIT or IIM is because of its students who score highest in JEE / CAT.
Jairam Ramesh may not be politically right in his statement but that cant be written off completely. People in India are a little emotional and react in panic. An ideal professor of these institutes should have been humble enough and ask the minister for their areas of improvement.
