BIG Fraud
by indianfirst on Feb 01, 2011 10:18 AM  | Hide replies

A big fraud is being perpetrated by ISB and the media is supporitng them.

The institute has reported the current salary of the batch that passed out three years ago. This salary has been divided by 15 instead of 45 to arrive at a bloated figure of dollar salaries. (the $ is 45 Rs but ISB considers the $ to be 15 Rs ) So a salary of Rs 15 lacs is being shown as 15,00,000/15 = $100000 instead of $35000. THIS IS AN ETHICAL FRAUD. WHY ARE THE MEDIA KEEPING QUIET.

Because this is in
purchasing power parity(PPP) terms. You cannot compare rupee salaries in India with dollar salaries elsewhere.

They have given clarification that currency conversion is based on Purchasing Power Parity . The same standard which indian govt as well as United Nations use to show that India is 4th largest economy.

An India salary of Rs. 15 L ( CTC) and a US salary of $ 100000. It is a joke to say they are equal. The US salary gets a lifestyle far far better than a CTC of 15 L in India. (15 L will include potential incentives !!)

It's actually not 3, but 2.5. So, a 20 lac salary can get you the same lifestyle as of US. And do compare the same city, like if you are picking mumbai, then pick NYC, where 20/25 lac Rs. (or 100K $) package is like nothing.
