Critics
by Harish Menon on Mar 25, 2010 12:12 PM  | Hide replies

After reading the comments on the late President below, one can only sigh and say... what next, Buddha was a Manuwadi because he was mentioned in the Mahabharata as an avatar of Vishnu? And J M Keynes was a failure because the world saw another depression some 80 years after the Great Depression which he helped solve!

Buddha was not a Manuwadi. He was later added to Mahabharata as an avatar of Vishnu,to destroy Buddhism by some manuwadis.

Really Buddha was the first social reformer of India and First socialist of the world.

He was typical Brahmin

He was Manuwadi. His thinking was not different from typical Manuwadi people (Brahmins). His contribution to society is zero.

people like u r the curse on society, forget about society, just think what contribution u have been able to make towards the good being of ur family, friends and neighbours atleast..... and do not answer that to me or others but to yourself only as one can cheat the whole world but not to oneself. What exactly know about being MANUWADI?

Failed man
by Roy on Mar 25, 2010 11:59 AM  | Hide replies

Basically Dr.Radhakrishnan was an educationalist. To gave Indian education,Nehru brought him to politics.Due to lack responsibility as vice-president for 10 years,he tried to become philosopher. When The arrogant Indira Gandhi denied him a second term as president,he was totally upset, which destroyed his senses.

Sadly he failed in all the three fields.

Mr. Roy, it's an ill luck of our country that we do not give value to our teachers. The society which gives importance to it's educationalists has always and will always prosper to it's best. Unfortunately, people like you will never let that happen. Pointing a finger to a person in blame is always easy but think atleast that a silly person like you is really worthy to comment upon the great persons of past?

Indian Philosophy
by Pawan Kumar on Mar 25, 2010 11:24 AM

Dr. Radhakrishnan has opened up the treasure of Indian thought and Philosophy to the western world. His works on Indian Philosophy show the amount of effort he has put in decoding the Indian Philosophy and presenting a perspective vis-a-vis the western thought. That his writings were in English, he remains a connecting link for today's generation, who cant read sanskrit fluently, to India's past.

Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan
by Meryl Streep on Mar 25, 2010 10:23 AM

Dr. Radhakrishnan is best recognised by making Sept 5th teacher's day. However, it is a pity that many of his works are now out of print. One has to search through second-hand book shops to lay hands on his works. HOpefully the Govt. will intervene (esp. the Publications Divn of India) and keep his books in print. It is a pride that we had such a genius as our second President
