Training of People required in childhood
by ASA C on Jun 28, 2010 12:14 PM  | Hide replies

I would have taken classes for many but because of time.I have decided to write book about all these in my fifties. All I want to say is it is the upbringing which matters.90% of society rules formed for women all over the world are wrong.A woman can come up in life like a man keeping her feminine nature eg Mrs Clinton, Nooye etc.esp.now a days every work is brain related.

As there are men who are 'IDIOTS' by birth (born with very weak brain) there are 'Genius' women too.
I agree with you that in every society the rules are normally anti-female.
The only poit you have forgotten is that - women are more responsible for these rules than the men(women give birth and bring up both the male and female offsprings in all the societies!!!and it is they who inculcate this 'dominance theory!) of course the man who is getting undue advantage naturally does not want to let-go off such an opportunity!!!
Nooyi and clinton are both 'ZERO' examples of 'Knowledge' may be kalpana chawla would have been a thousand times better example (though a small example) - I do not mean to demean the two ladies exampled by you BUT they have more of 'OPPORTUNITY' smelling in their favour than TALENT - Do you really think that the HOD every department in the world is - the most talented? - I have seen 'DUFFERS' being promoted because they suit the 'requirements' of their bossess (call it chamchagiri or give it any other name)BUT at the same time I would like to clarify that - All HODs are duffers would also be a TOTALLY wrong statement.

Girls are poor in saving money. So man must take over
by Senthil palani on Jun 28, 2010 11:58 AM  | Hide replies

Girls are poor in saving money. So man must take over .they just want to spend all money on cloths and cosmetic..Recently my wife told me that she need to straighten her hair for 10000 Rs...I didn't agree.. If she has the control of financial things, this will be her first priority. The hair fixing need 10k per year, which is more than our car insurance ...

Family money
by naveen fernandes on Jun 28, 2010 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

Men and women have different ways of looking at the same thing. Most (not all) women are instinctive and conservative, men more rational, but risk takers.
It makes sense to sit in and decide family goals and have a rational plan that both will contribute to.
In my family, my wife has the discipline and maintains the books, I discuss products with her - she has an amazing way of providing perspectives. It would be stupid to lose this advantage.
In any case, 2 working people in a family both contribute to a family future and cannot view it differently.

Yours are the only views in this entire forum which are good. How true it is that a vehicle moves only when all tires function together. Similarly instead of demeaning each other both should sit together and sort it out.

Have you done any research on this topic????
by RAJ on Jun 28, 2010 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

I suggest rediff to do some specific research before publishing these non - sense articles for novices to write comments here!!! It is true that wives have their own right on their money at the same time they have full right on their husband's money & finance also. But it is true vice-versa also. All couple have their own understanding and these learned couples do'nt seek opinion from rediff or these boggey consultants on personal matters. Once the differences arise between couples then these articles are useless and normally it leads to divorce ( if no children) or loss of understanding and peace of mind (if children are there) disturbing personal lives. As a mature couple I have seen hundreds of couples in good harmony and managing finances better than individuals whether Man or Woman.

Media needs sensation to keep themselves alive. You will find TV media trying to find from grief family members their feelings esp someone would have lost father/mother/son/daughter. They never feel bad ask such questions. There is no point blaming media, people should be more aware and conscious to ensure there is a balanced decision taken on family matters taking into confidence the family members. Family should be a unit and husband, wife and children are members and it should be an internal affairs and sort out differences within four walls.

They are ignorant of family values so they get destroyed. They ruin their personal lives. Since they consider themselves as extraordinary they are closed to comman sense. They obstruct all sensible decisions. Cannot be kicked out of the family as other good family members willing suffer silently. So no progress. Only negative growth.

I see Amen that cooking and washing is all thats there in ur head regarding domestic responsibilties. However, whoever can do a particular job well shud be take responsibilty for it. Is it that u look down upon cooking and washing by men? I know of several senior bureaucrats and leading businessmen actually supervising 'Cooking and washing' and indulging in them personally as well. Think, what u speak, lest u sound like a moron.

If her husband is not spending her money for his personal enjoyment and realy investing it for future it is finally in her own interest. She should get 25% for her expenditure and rest is saving is good equition. Provided in that situation all house hold expenditure must be met by husband ( Grossory, Milk, Phone & Electricity Bill, School Fees, etc.) All the best one day the couple will be wealthy.

Husband looking after money
by Kartic Krishnan on Jun 28, 2010 10:42 AM

Barely a couple of generations ago, women used
to consider investment in gold. specfically
gold jewellery as the only worthy financial
investment and the time tested bulwark against
inflation, losses in other people's business.
etc. But now, with education rather than
illiteracy being the rule among women in India,
there can be no excuse for women continuing
with the gold standard exclusively. There is
hardly any use consulting one's parents about
investments unless they are reasonably educated, themselves. It is only when this type
of hopeless guidance is resorted to, that the
husband becomes an inevitable decision maker
after marriage. Self reliance in financial
matters should begin early.
