GAUTAM BARDOLOI
Much Ado about Nothing ??
by GAUTAM BARDOLOI on Jan 23, 2010 12:08 AM  | Hide replies

In China, every western restarent like Milan,Karen Coffee,UB Coffee, etc has a Piano set up with a tall, beautiful, sensual and slim pianist who plays beautiful music to provide a suitable ambience. There are thousands of pianists in China as it is close to Russia and East Europe where as in India Piano is a "super" royal instrument with very few pianists.

Our daughter has just got a chance to bite the American pie,and she has started ridiculing our bollywood music..
Beti, you are going abroad, tell good about your heritage.Present bollywood music fraternity also include A R Rehman,Kailash Kher,Sonu Nigam,Shreya Ghoshal, etc, please remember and spread globally the good things of bollywood.
All the best...

Dear gautham ... please do not defend the moronic music of current bollywood even with ARR (not to mention the new methodically iiritating crooning of mr.nigam) .. gone are the days of rdburman, his father, OP nayyar.. its all SLAM BAM thank u #$& ... music cannot be bang bang all the time .. her choice of pbly migrating is right in a way ... classical music is treated well there .. in our country too there is no dearth of hindustani and carnatic geniuses (DR.L Subramaniam, Pt. Bhimsen joshi.. etc).. just as you wudnt expect Hindustani and carnatic musicians to be appreciated by your Westerners in general, similarly, Pianists and western classical musicians too find themselves seldom heard in India .. (ever hjeard of Gary Lawyer, guitarist; B. Raman, saxophone player) .. well these guys are big but seldom heard in india.. so her choice is alright .. lets not compare B'wood with classical sounds .. a good bunch of us do not know how to appreciate the kind of music lesser experienced

She strongly reminds me of my 'Classmate'...
by Babu on Jan 22, 2010 11:34 PM

This 'Multi-faceted' talent strongly reminds me of my school days, with eyes that 'speak' conveying 'Glee', 'Goodwill', 'Youth', 'Compassion', 'Energy' and what more and what not.

And I wish her well and all the very best in life.

Whilst living in India these people seem to run down anything Indian. They smirk on Bollywood ,Indian Foods ,clothes etc. They consider English as their language and the West as their Motherland. Why do we have to be so proud of people like them.
