Airtel is the master in collecting money for A to Z
Hutch/Vodaphone also hav similar problem on Caller Tunes, usurping money after activation.
while aother operators have problems as explained by me on post paid connections on my earlier message.
The best is use Prepaid only. Do not avail any VAS or any other services unless & otherwise useful.
In all my experience with Mobile operators is that Reliance better than any one. They are giving attractive offers and lesser call charges on prepaid. They some times repay if you are charged unnecessarily.
do u know that ur mobile battery charge is going down if you are hearing Caller Tunes? Think & act on it.
/I have taken wired broadband services from Reliance, sales person was repeatedly following me to take landline saying its free with no connection charges and every month 50 rs talk time. Internect connection was giving much less speed than suggested in plan, I followed up with reliance but in vein, after gettting frustrated with the services, I requested to disconnect the wired internet connection, to my surprise telephone connection was also deactivated which was free and not asked to disconnect. After 1 month I was slapped with bill of 1400 Rs when I followed up to reliance they replied me that they are telephone pretermination charges which I did not asked ever. I am following up with then since 1.5 yes with long list of mail, but still charges are not reverted back.

Do not go any where. First send email to nodal officer with copy to Department of Telecommunication.
I too had similar experience with Reliance 2 times.
The first time when I did not activate Caller Tunes, they activated suddenly & deducted Rs.30/- and when I called Customer Care and made complaint, thye REFUNDED ME THE Money deducted by re-crediting my prepaid account. It was the time when I did not activate/use any Value Added Services, hence they paid back.
The second time, when I activated activated Caller Tune on Sai Ram Bhakthi song and it went on for 2 months, but after that one day all of a sudden when I called a friend & talked to him, his song was copied which was a Cine song. When I lodged lodged complaint with them, they did not make any refund. So this time I called the again and immediately cancelled my Caller Tune though I paid for that and made-up my mind not to use any Value added Services and talking peacefully.
Moreover I share with U my many more experiences:
1. All the Operators are the same on VAS activation. I had other connection too. viz., Airtel, Hutch/Vodaphone, Aircel, Tata Indicom Post paid. Everywhere this is the same condition. But Reliance better than anybody.
2. Never go for a post paid connection, they disconnect your out going by saying that u have exceeded ur limit by which time u actually woul not have used. They will confuse u with billed & unbilled portions. After some days they will also cut ur incoming where u will feel like throwing away the Sim. Secondly they will ask Deposit amount for STD calls. so on....
I asked the Customer care to activate my DND & DNC. Still its not activated after 45 days period & I still receive junk messages.
Secondly I did not asked for a ring tone but activated it & charged me. They said that we requested it at around 4 AM in the morning. Such nonsense with poor customer care
I got my post-paid connection disconnected in October with all due payments at their customer care and they started calling me in December that Rs 200 are due. When I went to their Customer Care, they told me that ur account was Suspended, to disconnect you must pay another Rs 2000/- (I don't know how this calculation happened). Rep told me that he will get back to me but he never did.
I had heard lost of stories from my friends how Relaince cheats its customers and then send Goondas to recover the amount. Sad to experience it first hand. Stay away from these morons.
You cant take one example for displaying the image of a company. Reliance is well known brand in both CDMA and GSM. I agree that somewhere or other few dispute occurs with every service but that doesn't mean that we start making commments and target telecom sector or Individual company. Dont you think this kind of dispute occurs while dealing with Banks or utilities.

IT NOT HAPPENING WITH ONE PERSON MY DEAR. BUT EVERY CUSTOMER IS GETTING FEDUP EITH THAT. I AM USING RELIANCE AND IT HAS HAPPENED WITH ME. IT IS DIFFICULT TO SWITCH SERVICE PROVIDER BECAUSE ONE NUMBER WHICH IS DISTRIBUTED IN FRIENDS CAN NOT BE CHANGED REGULARLY. IT CREATES PROBLEM. THIS IS THE REASON THAT WE HAVE TO OVER LOOK THESE NONSENSE.

ALL MOBILE SERVICE PROVIDER NOT ABLE TO GIVE QUALITY SERVICE BUT
RELIANCE IS NOT ABLE TO GIVE THE MINIMUM SERVICE AND CHEAT MANY WAYS YOU CAN ACTIVATE A SERVICE BY CALLING IN A NUMBER BUT YOU CANNOT DEACTIVATE IS BY CALLING THE NO GIVEN BY THEM.........
What he says is 'if money has gone into their account, there is no chance of getting it back'. If this is the position of Relaince, why blame income tax department for not giving the refunds
I agree with the pathetic condition of all subscribers including myself. The problems as highlighted are too common with Reliance. Such arbitrary deductions without the consent/knowledge of the subscribers is a fraud and they should be made accountable and held responsible

ive heard a lot of complaints about reliance from friends too. thankfully, i dont have a single connection at home from reliance. all connections are airtel/bsnl/vodafone - and least complaints are with airtel for connections, least complaints for billing with bsnl, vodafone/airtel have had issues with billing/ service activation nothing with bsnl.
