I was a die hard BSNL loyalist, had their connections for about 6 years, but of late, I do not receive their signals when at home, and also in many other places. Frequent call dropping and poor voice quality were issues plaguing their service. I changed phones twice, different brands, well known for voice clarity. I strongly feel that some of the BSNL staff are sabotaging cellone to promote private players.
I discontinued my BSNL mobile service because I have to go to Industrial Area in Kanpur and there BSNL has the worst connectivity. My colleagues would joke that "if you are out of range then you may be in the Industrial area". I found out that other operators do not have this problem.
Dear Mr Nadar. I'm using a BSNL mobile from a BSNL Circle to a MTNL Circle and fequently travelling throughout India but never ever have experienced this stuff.. either there must be some problem with your mobile handset or you being paid for writing this.

What you are saying is not true, i've friends coming over from chennai to mumbai and their BSNL phones dont work, we cant reach them and have to use text msgs for communication. SAD BUT TRUE!!!

yea i agree.. i've been a regular user ov BSNL and the network isn't up to mark.. in chennai and on roaming
idea tariff local Rs.1 STD rs 1.5 Roaming 1.50 no offers sympathy to idea customer care persons . they always apologize when it comes to tariff am waiting for mobile number portability i wonder why still people using idea

I have Idea prepaid in AndhraPradesh. There is a scheme to recharge with 44 or so and convert tariff to .50 for local (any network) and 1.00 STD. That is pretty competitive here. Recently DOCOMO is coming up with throw away prices though.

IDEA is growing popularity because it is providing more VAS services rather than only calls...whatever you can imagine in mobile its there in IDEA...Thats why IDEA can change your life..

get a plan of 399/-, u'll get all locals incl. land line @ 30 paise and all std @ 50 paise. Beside roaming @ 1 rupee.

Idea is the worst service provider when i approach them if any problem persist they raise their hands, particularly when our hard earned money is involve, as customer we expect them to give us fair advise instead, i regret to say day by day their service is deterioriting.

BSNL's service is pathetic. BSNL has looted us for so many years with high Local Calls/ STD & ISD tariffs. Now they are crying.
