I have finished by graduation from Annamalai university which is on No.10 in the above list. Overall the syllabus is OK,exams are bit tough and paper corrections/results on par. The syllabus is a bit outdated with many spelling mistakes. Overall it is only OK for the sake of doing graduation.

I have done from AU the following two distance education PG Diplomas: 1) PGD in Computer aided design of Concrete structures. (2) PGD in Quantity Survey and Valuation. Before that, I hold traditional degrees of BSc(Eng) civil from Travancore (Now Kerala) University and PhD(Civil)(Struct Eng) of IIT-M. I found the PGD distance education of AU of good standeard, covering subjects not taught in the standard syllabus of graduate degrees. I find my PGD's very valuable and worth the money and time spent.

There is lot of misconception about regular program vs. distance mode program particularly in management education. If looked deep into the way the distance mode programs are done by many universities in India, one will understand that this is revenue spinning activity. Fact, however, remains that whether the degree is earned either way is of no use, unless the student has conceptual knowledge, skills and aptitude for management. It is totally misunderstood. Corporates donot differentiate between the two, they look for "Whether individual can do the job and grow with organization" or going to be a time pass/w. If so, they rshown the gate. Most of these socalled MBA coming out of either regular or distance donot have anything with them except for a piece of paper called certificate, without either the knowledge or the skills. Attitude and aptitude are a far cry. same is the case with students who pass out from AICTE approved autonomous institutions through regular programs. These the institutes are selected on the basis of the placement record not on the basis of course content and faculty. Besides that most students look for whether the institue is "cool", which means whether they can hv good atomsphere for romancing from 1st semester itself. They come single, become double and by the time, they have completed 3months in the institute, they attend classes only in pairs. If campus is spacious they can be found displaying thei
SMU helps student to get pass by supplying copy text in their exam in Bhubaneswar. My friend doing MBA here gets more than 75% in the exam even he is not know the exact course. Similary in MBA exam the question is of multiple choice like cometitive exam. Pitty SMU. SMU must improve his course & exam pattern to be par with IGNOU

SMU is the best in student friendly features due to large number of learning centers and online availability of all the authenticity of institute on website. Any institute may have some exceptional cases for cheating etc. which should be taken care by authorities. If anything such happen, it should be stopped for the reputation of good institute.
