Indians seem to celebrate every 'American invented' days. Be original. We always call and talk to our Mom. Don't need a special day. Why so much immitations?

Quoted for truth. Very well said dude. We don't need any special day. Be original.
Few people are saying its not affordable or expensive.....surprising! most of them are from IT industry & enjoy their every weekend with friends or family friends at expensive joints & for one day i.e. Mothers Day they are saying its not affordable.
Kya ghanta recession. You are not living in US to be affected ny recession. Its a fashion for angrezi class to blame although there is hardly any effect in India.
i think there need not be a special day called mothers day to really shower your mom with all your affection and love. Everyday you be with her you need to care and show your affection rather than you get involved in your work or your time with friends and ignore her or your family as a whole and then take out time to shower your affection on a particular day. Remember and share and be with her all the time...as there is only one life and and just one mom whom you could love this life cos you will never get another chance. STOP your excuses. I pity someone saying that they are not able to spend much bcos of recession, how much more are you going to spend for her that one day another 500, or 1k cant you afford it for that one day..just imagine u spending something for urself in small amounts for a week or a month. u just need to avoid it but i think its tough to do so as long "I'm" is important its tough for you to share something with ur mom. Some human beings need an excuse and i suppose this day is for those few who would at least realise, come to senses and value a person who has given them birth and a life and not for those who really love and be with the most precious human being in the world- MOM at all times.
We are blindly copying the US culture. Few years go no body knows about so called "Mother Day". As soon foreign media entered the Indian teritory, we started celebrating all their festivals. American people see their mothers two to three times a year. The parents kick out their kids from home as soon they turned 18. So they come up with the plan to have "Mothers Day" to say thanks. But here we don't need that. Our parents live with us and the natural bondage is alway there.

If you dont like it, dont do this. But everyone is free in this free country called India. If they like they would celebrate it. You cannot force your views on others.

Absolutely right. US & other western countries culture leaves their family and they do not have a time to think theor parents. Later, remembering thier parents they fixed mothers day, parents,Etc. Even There may be the chances of wife day, husband day, ex husban day exwife day. In our culture, parents live for us and we live for them,. Our dharma to take care our parents during their life time even after death too.

u r correct sundaramoorthy ...... that is why islam at the outset of adult age to all mentions that if anyone looks at a parent with mercy irrespective of good or bad, recession or wealthy times ...........that is what parents and even God,the only creator of the universe puts parents very after himself and prophet.........
