Yes, I agree saree gives very good look as Indian. She should wear saree in these occassions than these western outfits. She became old enough to wear saree also.

Hema: you solved the mystery.
'she is old enough' to wear Saree?
that's why she is not wearing saree. Wants to look younger.

The lookportrayed by Mrs.Aishwarya Rai Bacchan is too westernised for my liking. She represents India & hence should dress up more soberly with a sari & the do. Whats the use of wearing something which could have been better. Kauwa chale hans ki chaal.

Yeah, its surprising and quite uncalled for our beauties to shun sarees and other Indian wears that suits and enhances their beauty like anything.... almost every other Indian actress who cross over makes it a point not to display any Indian outfit and kowtow to western outfits. Of course, its their choice bt still its paradoxical that Nandita Das can wear sarees at Cannes and Ash can gown on!

Mrs. Bacchan is beautiful but her beauty often washed by her wrong choice of cloths. He charm is also diminished after marriage. She has probably compromised (as one should and would be) as to be less light than her husband. He husband has a bright future but seems to be finding his path. Similar to his father in 70's. Out of dozens, only two star sons are successful ( Sunny and Sanju baba), rest are resting. Every man has a unique destiny and it remain to be see that how Mr. baccchan junior create his path. He must learn from his mother that, only acting and not the star power sustain the future in art world. Amitabh and Sharuk are exception but their upbringing and struggle were uniquely fit to the time era that overshadowed others and still lightning. In nutshall, Mrs. Bacchan junior future is now only in politics. Down 5 year from now, A SP ticket for "bahu" is to be alloted from Allahabad (UP), first in Rajya Sabha and then, if all gose fine, from Lok Sabha seat. A beauty in politics--what a combination for a India! which India absolutely deserve. Mrs. is well suitable for that because all those Buddha's in Parliaments want to please their eyes and presence of her charm. Perks to her will be Z security on the Tex payer money from hardworking Indian. Given all that future, the dress reflect her age is near to that stage of life. Its just a matter of time.

Aishwarya on the red carpet: Like her look?
by shree gupta on Feb 05, 2009 05:19 PM

Not this time. I don't like her look on this special occassion. She always wears Black Outfit. Don't you think she should go for other colours also. Dresses should be different kind. Not the same style & same colour.

Gayatri's khunnas and Dev r Nil's appreciation is appreciated, though sometimes, khunnas is more telling of the quality than appreciation.
