If someone believes that by wearing a Burka they are following the orders of their religion, then so be it. Let Indian Muslim women think that they become Arabs by wearing Burka. LOL!!!

no burqa does not mean going nude... or going indecent. saree covers the body fully and is our culture. face is a very decent part of human body and need not be covered. only criminals tend to cover faces.

Burqas shouldn't be banned from any public places. Few things for the bloggers who don't know why Moslem girls/womens wear burqas: > She doesn't want frosty public stares; the whispers behind her back > Because she is submissive.
The Hijab reflects the modesty. Is there anything wrong in covering the body?
Just shocked to see, that the colleges welcome girls in bikini, but can't allow any modest dress. It's shame on our democracy.
I request all indians (no matter what they are) to get together and respect other religions, support moslems in this struggle.

If a h1ndu or a chriztian joins a muzlim owned school where wearing a veil is a must...will they allow non-muzlims to not wear it?
nothing wrong in wearing a head scarf, if it fulfils religous requirment so it be, its a personal choice, will the baseball cap be banned too. unecessarily the girl is being targetted.
if one talks about stopping religous symbols then the said college has to remove all the photos of deities adorning the walls, stop religious holidays, stop religous functions....
banning the scarf is a dangerous step taken by the educators which is against the rights gauranteed by constitution.

because it is oppressive to women and does not bode well in class participation by students who wear burqa. You are free to wear your burqa at your home and mosque. It is up to the college to decide what's best for their students.

burqa is oppressive, nuns cloak is religous, saree is conservative, jeans is suggestive, salwar kameez is decent, mini skirt is arousing, no to bikini, yes to mundu... the list is endless
