i say this bcause amity business school has lost its AICTE recognition. the fees is quite high. after five years the importance of mba will decrease and so u need a certificate which has a value. then i think aicte recognition will b a big factor.

Amity is not the best
by crispin wesley on Jun 25, 2006 06:12 PM

Satya,
I dont think amity is one of the best business schools in the country. You can very well join Karunya Deemed University in Coimbatore. It is one of the best institutions in the country. Placement is also top-hole. Between May and June this year nearly 300 students have been placed.

your query

HI Satya,
So you are looking for some tips on Amity. I am done my MBA distance learning form this very school. You see one thing is clear and evedent out of my experience is that if at all you want to do MBA from Amity then please go in for full time because it has a little better mode of teaching. I will advise you not to go in for distance learning as there are limited number of classes per subject which are really not sufficient to complete this course, and during the exams there are questions which are out of the syllabus. Sometimes the classes are also cancelled due to non availability of the faculties thus leaving you redundant. Today Amity has become a name and also know as huge money spinners and it has become a business institution rather than an educational Institution. It has a very beautiful concept of education that any of the schools offer today, totally western culture. Please understand if you really want to do MBA then please try for CAT and opt for IIMS then XLRI then MDI gurgaon, D.U's Narsee Monjee and if you fail to secure your seats in all these institutes then you have no other options, join full time MBA programme and not part time or Distance learning.

Hey sandip,
NIRMA is nowhere compared to SPjain,FMS....These colleges are anyday better cos they have better faculty, placements, infrastructure, student exchange programmes and what not.. FMS offers one the best MBA courses in India for just 18,000 per year..... FMS stands out.

My son studied in the said school.Kaaaash it can be altered.Kaaash he had done his MBA from some other school. There is nothing but only showbazi.High fees and nothing. In his all two years that batch never visited any industry for practical. After that for job no good company came to school as the courses were lost their affiliation from concerning authority AICTE.when some good company arrived, the CVs of related students never given to that company, only CVs of the favourits were given.IN my view you please do not go there.

Amity B-School or not?
by RAVIKRISHNA on Jun 24, 2006 05:19 PM

Well I have seen msgs frm people who have completely written off the B-School.I agree with them to some extent. My suggestion as to doing ur MBA frm Amity is:'Don't get desperate to do any MBA cos everyone is doing it and settle for a lesser B-school'.Also get feedback abt the placements and the kind of job profile the placements offer plus abt the teaching faculty in the B-school.I guess this wud b ur last qualification after getting into the coperate world,so do it frm a good B-School.I myself being a working proffesional will be giving compititive exams(CAT etc) nxt year.So don't settle for less.Take care.

Best Regards
RaviKrishna

MBA from Amity Business School
by Sanjay Kumar Thakur on Jun 24, 2006 11:21 AM

Dear Satya,
This refers to your query about MBA from Amity Business School(hencefoth,ABS).
I would be difficult to suggest you as I am not aware of your educational background, financial status and most important, career goal.
However,A general analysis could still be given before you to decide.
ABS is not among very high rated school for management-on industry or acdemia point of view.On positive side,It has huge infrastructure, might be getting campus placement more due to locational advantage than the quality of the institute. It charges hefty sum as fee.
Recently,ABS was in news-ofcourse due to wrong reason-as its MBA programme was de-recognised by AICTE(The regulatory body for engineering and management education).AICTE approval is a mandatory requirement for any institute in india to run any engg. or management programme. It is ,therefore, difficult to suggest for this particular institute.Better search some other insttitutes. You may get ratings from Business Today,Business India etc.In absence of these information, the thumb rule is focus on those institutes where admission in MBA is only through CAT,XLRI test and JMET.
I hope this clarifies.
regards,
Sanjay Kumar Thakur
