Amity

An institute is as good as students make it. The name of the institiute stays with you through out your life. While going through the opinions posted on the site, i found both yes and nos'. the nos' were generally by those people who preffered not to reveal their identity. Anyone can make out why this is done..
Amity has a good name in the market. Once you enter the corporate world, it all boils on your potential and then it really does not matter from which institute you have pursued your MBA. It is the surrvival of the fittest.

I am a Marketing professional with an MBA from one of the traditionally premier institutes. In my veiw, Amity Degree doesnt hold the edge in the Job market. Its marketing gimmick apart, its not on the list of preferred institutes of the top corporates in the industry. So please think twice before you leap.

MANAGEMENT EDUCATION AT AMITY B-SCHOOL
by Aurnob Roy,Faculty,ABS,LKO.CAMPUS on Jun 26, 2006 11:45 AM

Management is about people, power, practices and politics. So, its about concepts, communication, connections and capital. At Amity B-School, the virtues of knowledge-based values management, with commitment, is practiced by mgt. interns, equipped with latest management teaching methods,we are all in relentless search towards excellence, to make the institute reach a level of academic,industry-orientation,market-based orientation,in a Globalized Economic-Order dominated by 5-I's-Individual Consumer,Investment,Industrialisation,International Trade & Information Technology.Having said this, let me point out,the 15 yrs. of positive Economic Reforms has put India in the world map. However, the inner core values, are still weak with injustice, communal violence,150 of 600 Districts of India having Naxalite Movements,a danger for Democracy, largest AIDS Population in the World-5.7million & 1 in 10 students of Class 6 can only sign their names. In such a scenario, although, with islands of edu.prosperity like IITs,IIMs,ISIs,etc.we believe that students make an institution, with help of teacher's, acting as facilitators & Role Models. We can achieve excellence at ABS both Intl.&National level

Look for something else

Hi
I would start by saying DO NOT JOIN AMITY. Amity Biz school is just an enterprise where u spend an enormous amount and get a PGDBA with below avg package. I got a final admit in in 2002 but didn't took admission. I know scores of people who have left Amity in between after the AICTE episode. They were treated like pigs by the AMITY Biz school mgmt. Please do not waste your parents hard earned money if u belong to a middle or upper middle class family. If u have it in you then you will get a better B-School. Just have petience and perseverence and keep working hard.
