CAT

well CAT really lived upto the exectations of bieng a tough exam once again.reducing the number or questions also proved to be quite a nemisis,as the no of 2 markers were more there was lot risk in answering them, summing it up it was quite a moderate paper for all those who put in all the hardwork during the last year of prepparation.

CAT Results

I am sorry for all my friends who have done the exam wonderfully bad. I think that this is the paper which puts papers like MAT to shame. If you could ever score above 100 in a paper, this was it. I took one question at a time and ended up with all. The issue was that I was quite nervous of getting 150/150 with the image of the paper leak lurking in my mind, so I unmarked one and my score now is 148/150. I know it was a big mistake since I deleted a 2 mark question instead of 1 :(. I am hopeful that i might get a call from an A grade institute. Keeping my fingers crossed. Aapka apna Sudarshan Shah.

Much ado about none-CAT 2005
by Alok on Nov 21, 2005 03:21 PM

I guess this is a classic case of how things can be blown out of proportion by the electronic media. IMHO (In my humble opinion) the CAT is highly overhyped and overpriced.....so are the IIM's.

You go in with so much of prepartion, but on the actual D-DAY you find the entire paper topsy-turvy....something you wouldn't have predicted even in your wildest of dreams! The actual CAT goes on to demostrate a fundamental truth, there's no use giving 'n' number of mock CAT's. All the coaching classes are of no use.....

With all the hype surrounding the IIM's, IIM-A, India's so called best B-School is ranked at a pathetic world ranking of 69th!

I think its time somebody comes up and breaks the monopoly of the IIM's. At the moment they are calling the shots, and every year 2 lakh odd people are bowing down to them like tamed wild cats!

blew it up
by abhijit singh on Nov 21, 2005 03:13 PM

hi! this is abhijit from SCOE, Pune.
My strength was DI. i solved a good number of questions from it though i ended up spending a lot of time on it.
then is started solving QA, which was relatively tough and did it till i was sure of scoring at least 12 marks in it. when i finally went to VA, i hardly had time left. hence, cud manage barely 7-8 questions.
i wish i had 5 more minutes to attempt 2 more 2-mark questions.
