Laptops with AMD athlon/sempron processors are also available and are pretty cheaper than Intel based laptops. I wonder why the author was insisting on buying a Intel based laptops.
thanks a lot for keeping the article simple and within the purvue of the average reader.the advice did not confuse me unlike that offered elsewhere. the configuration mentioned is almost what i was planning on buying with a few crucial changes, that i plan to implement. awaiting the next article.
I do not agree with your statement about the processor. AMD's range of Athlon and Sempron processors are now as good or even better than the Intel's highly touted P4 and Centrino processors.
very informative article. its the best 'check-up' list before buying a laptop. covers most facets of laptop usage and articulates with crisp, precise information. cant wait to read the next piece tomorrow!
the article written by mr.lele spells out the basic necessities for 95% of laptop buyers. the other 5% who are super informed already should read up technically advanced magazines such as CHIP. this article provides much needed pointers for the average laptop buyers, keeping in mind the most common reliable configurations. way to go rediff, you assess your readers well, keep providing such articles that address the very basic issues. looking forward to read the next article tomorrow. Mr.lele is one of your best writers, some of his earlier writings were really funny!
Who says only pentium processors work well? Why not go for an AMD. Please dont mislead the readers that Pentium processors are the only processors in the world and its the best. I have been persoanlly using AMD processor for my LAPTOP and i certainly have not encountered any problems.
Here author has assumed that Intel P4 processor and Windows OS is the best. I would strongly suggest anyone to go for Apple notebooks, if budget permits. The performance of Apple notebooks are far better in terms of processor architecture, battery life, weight and design. Also even for Intel based notebooks, Windows OS is not the best. Free Linux OS is also a very good option. Nowadays almost all the softwares are available for Linux and that also free. Linux and MAC OS are free from virus/worms. Before buying any notebook, one should also collect enough inofrmation about the service/warranty. Notebook is very different than PC in terms of service. In PC, one can change any component oneself but it is not possible to do in notebook because of compactness.
