An aspiring journalist having the urge to find out the truth behind every news...that's what I'm. After reading the article I've definitely found it good but nothing exceptional. There are loads of people like me who have done Post graduation in Mass communication and Journalism from good and one of the best institutes in India (sorry, should not tell the name). We've learnt a lot, did internship but then found that it's very tough to be into any newspaper and TV channel as a journalist. One needs SOURCES otherwise it's really tougher than anything else. I've faced it n many like me have faced it too. We don't get the scope. So, it's better if we we get the real information on how to start working as a journalist rather than where to study n ...etc. I know no one will reply me on this issue but then also if anyone...mithu20_2k@rediffmail.com will wait for any suggestion. The article was good and informative. Iam a journalism student and i dont think its that simple as you sounded. Getting in as a internee in small TV channels is ok. But after that when you complete your course it is very difficult to get in as a journalist in channels. Most of the channels already have their panel of reporters and correspondents. So they dont take new people in. If only it sounds as simple as you wrote - all the students coming out of journalism course should be in some channels by now, but for your information my batchmates except me are in search of some other job -some other field job now.

i so agree with ramya. NONE of my classmates hv made it anywhere big except one lady called kajal who reads weather on Zee TV. we r all a bunch of DU journalism 3-year degree holders(2002). in my group, i went for higher studies, another friend joined a call center and the 4th one is doing mass comm. in Symbiosis, Pune. so getting a course related job is certainly not as easy as it sounds. it is only for those who r desperate enough for it...and most of the young junta doesn't have the patience (for valid reasons sometimes)to just freeze youth endlessly to get a course related job...so most of us just decide to move on.

Ramya opinion is correct. Yes , Most of the leading journalists are not having Diploma or degree in journalism. So the journalism degree is only the token to enter Mass media. But real interest, Hard work only will lead success.

very informative indeed...keep the good work up! hey you missed out on one institute...Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahemdabasd (MICA). it's considered one of the top most instiututes of india, where mass comm is concerned. Anyways, way to go!!
This article is just like other informative book ideas only. One asked How to become a MD Doctor? Answer: 1st join medical stream after doing matric, then appear for a PMT test & then do MBBS & then you can go ahead for a specialisation in Medicine. & same way How to be a C.A. but my dear this not a cup of tea for every one...... Anyway efforts are always appreciated so yours too... Manpreet Batra
Good information but it lacked info about passes etc which you get when you work for somebody and also abt journalists for websites who also make videos !
