Minister for Corruption
by sunil agarwal on May 23, 2009 05:47 PM  | Hide replies

Why the P.M. is not creating a new ministry that is Minister for corruption.
Nor is the issue whether the DMK will get what they want or sit sulking outside the government (by the way, let them).

The real issue is the possible lobbying to ensure that friends of the powerful get the more general portfolios of Finance and Commerce.
And the more specific portfolios like Agriculture, Civil Aviation, Defence, Fertilisers, Petroleum, Shipping, or Telecom.
That is where the big bucks are.
That is where the big bang of reform can have an impact.
Or the big bang of selected preferential reform can help a favoured few.

The value of all products, goods, and services sold in India every year is about Rs. 49,50,000 crores (about USD 1.1 trillion).

Wouldn't it be helpful if even 0.01% of India's annual GDP was spent on a Ministry of Corruption with its own investigations staff, its own courts and judges, its own jails?

But there is another enemy within: corruption.
I hope Prime Minister Singh creates a slot for a Minister for Corruption.
Not to increase it, but to reduce it.

Mr.Power has been an pathetic Agriculture Minister spending more time with money loaded cricket BCCI than Agriculture ministry.Maximum suicide of farmers were reported from his native state of Maharastra.During his tenure Agriculture ministery has been most corrupt with ICAR(Indian council of agriculture research)is place where piblic funds are wasted with recruitment on power of money, region & favouritism rather than quality. There are no proper rules & regulation, those in use can be twisted.ICAR can be said "science is fun".

The mopre suicide, they can write off more loans and most of the crorepati farnmers in Maharashtra also gains out of it. The poorest of poor remains so and ultimately others hands come forward just to carry the dead body to crematorium. God bless these crocodiles who always hed tears for the farmers !!!!!!

My message went into COMA, a.k.a. moderator review.

Bharat, times have changed, people now demand performance from every ministry, see the fate of Arjun, Baalu etc.

Is there anything positive that has happened for farmers in the past 5 years.

Also is Vidarbha really unsolvable, peole killing themselves for debts of Rs. 30 - 40 K?

This is a good time to solve this issue.
