Dear Amir, I am a great fan of you.
But I don't agree with you on MMS.
Mr. Manmohan Singh is not weak. He is weak prime minister. Without Sonia's assent he can't take any decision.

Handsome PMs

Why can't we have handsome looking PMs in India? I can only think of Rajiv Gandhi as an exception otherwise look at the PMs we have, they all seem like they are either sad or will collapse on the next road crossing.

BE AWARE
by Aniruddha on Apr 30, 2009 01:16 PM  | Hide replies

Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the
1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling
booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the
presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!

Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly
notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O".

Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if
a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has
received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that polling will be
cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the
candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot
contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their
decision on them. This would bring fear into parties and hence look
for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would
change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly
surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a
feature to the public....

Please spread this news to as many as you know... Seems to be a
wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India... show your
power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody, is even more
powerful than voting... so don't miss your chance. So either vote,
or vote not to vote (vote 49-O) and pass this info on...

"Please forward this mail to as many as possible,

Some part portrayed over here are wrong, if a person exercises his vote as 49-0, the parties wont be affected n neither will there be a re-election, only thing is that candidates vote will not be considered since he din vote for anyone.

If Advani was a strong opposition leader, his NDA could have make a clean sweep in the elections. Opinion polls still suggests that no front will get a majority. Can a failed Opp leader be a good prime minister?

Agree Totally!!!!
by Sunny on Apr 30, 2009 01:15 PM  | Hide replies

I fully agree with Aamir that Dr. Manmohan is not a weak PM. In no country does ONE person take all decisions. Its always collaborative decisions. Can Advani vouch that all decisions that was taken during the Vajpayee regime was his alone. It can never happen.

Its very true that a persons silence shldnot be considered his weakness.

Dr. MMS is not a politician but a bureaucrat and thats the breed that we need to progress not people who scream promises and then do nothing.
