Who is Mrs Gandhi trying to fool by this sham act of renunciation. We are an emotional nation fond of hero worship and when faced with emotional blackmail, turna blind eye to relaity, legal and consitutional issues.
After the petitions were moved about legality of her becoming the PM in accordance with provisions of Citizenship Act, was there anything else she could do ? As per this Act, she coudl not beocme the PM. In fact, she legally can not even become a member of parliament.
It would have been worse for her if the Supreme Court or President had declared her claim illegal. She would have been declared guilty of perpetarting an illegal act on Republic of India. This is also an issue that needs to be answered by our Election Commission.
Yes, strategically, it is a master stroke to turn a legal disadvantage into a political brahmastra and silence BJP and a emotional nation.
But if only we take a dispassionate view, there was nothing else that she could do.
So lets not shed tears for sham acts of renunciation and have another Mother Teresa in making.

What you taken decision for the prime minister post in india will always remain in indian history, I will support your decision because of the two reasons, 1)Our beloved former priminister Jawaharlal neharuji struggled lot for getting the freedom for the india, there main intention was to remove Britishers from india , So that Atomaticaly every indians having mentality that we do not want forein people in indian politics, For loving forein people there is no restrictions. But for the holding of the important post in indian democracy restrications are there. With your decision you earned indians hart for ever. 2)Mahatma Gandhi and jawaharalal neharuji never expected in future forein people are going to become priminister of india. But because of love situation becomes different. All are giving respect you, because your a member of Gandhi family.
