Selection of K. L. Rahul for ODI and T20 squads is disappointing. His style of play may be o.k. for test squad only. He has a shaky start, and, allows bowlers and fielders to dominate.

Further, in modern cricket, plan to just keep wickets I but not bothering on run rate in initial 10 overs will not work in ODis. Forget those days when 100 runs could be planned for last 10 overs. Too much slow run rate by opening batsman puts up undue pressure on middle order batsmen.

KL Rahul is always selected irrespective of his performance. Though he is a good player. He lacks confidence. Hanuma Vihari is also poor selection. On batting wickets he does not score beyond 50.

How is the selection done today. They were supposed to meet on 22nd July. MSK Prasad is not entitled till Supreme Court and COI directs. This selection is totally invalid.
It is good they have included new faces but inclusion of Y.Chahal and Kedar Yadav in One day squad is very dis-appointing. Why board wants to give them a chance till they succeed. We should give chance to new players in coming 2 years if we really want to compete in next world cup. Or else our old age heavyweights will continue to make us disappoint as ususal.
