Unfortunately, this appears to be the trend in our country . All informal selections first,and, for the rituals, have committee. Merit is proven, because selection is through a committee.

OTHER COACH OR CAPTAIN EVER ACHIEVED IN HISTORY OF INDIAN CRICKET . WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT ??
See , few failures will always be there , let anybody be the coach OR captain . Team cannot win all matches ( 100 percent ) under any coach .
And again , it was pre decided that Shastri will continue as coach , but still there is a protocol to be followed . That's why BCCI went thru selection process / interviews etc - -

oh yeah...how much do you know about the 3 candidates. Just to sit in from of your computer and making comments doesn't help. So your problem is that Kohli is a billionaire and you are not..typical communist/socialist mindset. These 3 peope in the selection know much more about Indian cricket than you do. So don't try to reach where you obviously can't
