Its disgusting to see a team for World Cup without Yuvraj....What is Binny doing there or for the matter what is Shikhar Dhawan doing there...He has barely performed outside India. They say class is permanent and Yuvraj has both class and experience which would be very handy for a World Cup tournament....Can't understand the logic of Sandeep Patil and Co...
It's no small matter. It's worse than the betting scam, in a way. This will, to a great extent, demoralize the budding talents who are working day in and day out to get a slot in the national squad.
Time has come to shout at the top of our voice so that the selection committee (read Roger Binny, Stuart's father)is forced to exclude his son and include someone who has worked hard for it and deserves a place in the team in his own right. No free holiday packages for anybody. Could be Uthappa, could be Murli, could be Shami or Samson...or Yuvraj...
It's time we told them, 'The Indian cricket team is not anyone's paternal property. There is no place for a far below average player in the Indian team - just because his father happens to be a selector.
Yuvraj in place of Binny would have strengthened some experience in the middle order. Emphasis has been laid on pace bowling since the tournament is in Australia & New Zealand. One good left arm pace bowler would have provided variety to the pace attack.
