he has not said he predicted. he has merely said what he spoke with his son and this candid expression is being wrongly vented in public. may be rediff has made it in an inappropriate headline, which is giving an innocent father-son communication a wrong perspective.
India won at Lords after 1986 and it was fist match at lords thereafter without Sachin. India won because he was not there. He could not score century at Lords. Agarkar and Rahane could do it.

What is so great about it? Why so called great cricketer? Even I predicted to myself but not to any media that India would win. If he had announced to media, at the end of 2nd day, it would have carried some credit. Let him predict the other matches after the 1st d ay.
After playing for 25 years of Indian cricket, Sachin, what you have predicted is no big deal. Please talk to Sharapova she don't know anything about cricket - more important you.

Why Tendulkar could not predict the outcome of any of the tests when he was playing himself? Was it because he was not confident of himself? Remember, the last 10 yrs, all the matches Tendulkar scored 100, India lost including the 100th test against Bangladesh. That is Tendulkar's record. Score wise he may be top but technique wise he is inferior to even VVS which Australians rightly said Very Very Special. They used to tease/trouble all the batsmen but not VVS because he was real highly skilled batsman but without the luck of many others.
Time to get out of public memory. You had your run & let the others enjoy the spotlight now. We don't want to know what a genius you are in predicting results. I wish you would have predicted your retirement better. Then we would have all been saved the bother of cursing you in your last days.
