Team Composition for 3rd ODI
by Pallab Banerjee on Jan 24, 2014 09:23 PM  | Hide replies

Whatever experts say about the team composition I am sure the two Sharmas would still be playing all the remaining matches, irrespective of their performances. That is one reason a single player should not be captaining the side too long , as he becomes more powerful and more adamant.

Ishant Sharma & Suresh Raina have been passengers too long. Definitely Raydu or Pujara need to be drafted in. And why are we not playing a genuine fast bowler like Umesh Yadav?

SMALL COUNTRIES

like NZ are able to produce express fast bowlers
with speeds in excess of 150 kmph. Soon after the 2011 world cup punjab cricket association launched a state wide hunt for fast bowlers. Search was given up as the supposedly strong fellows from punjab could not bowl over 133 km max. Thats the story of Indian fast bowling.

Excuse me.. it's not all about RAW power.. It involves a lot of technique to generate pace..

Yes, upright seam and wrist position are extremely important to generate pace..

If I were ignorant plz exuse..

DHONI SAYS

Openers must take more responsibility. This statement gives the impression that

a ) He doesn't think they are flat track bullies.

b) He doesn't think they need to be changed.

System to be blamed
by Yoker on Jan 24, 2014 02:34 PM

Rather then blaming the players, the current system need to be blamed for the Indian teams recent performance

1) BCCI President owns a IPL team. Captain of his IPL team is the captain of team India.
2) A previous selector of team India, was brand ambassador of the same IPL team.
3) Many Players from the same IPL team are part of team India. They continue to be in the team inspite of continous poor performances.
4) Current selector has his son playing in domestic cricket. The son gets selected in team India ignoring other domestic players who have performed better then him.
5) Former cricketers turned commentrators are under lucarative contract of BCCI. Considering the lucarative contract they do not speak against the system inspite some of them during their playing days had raised voices against the same BCCI.

To sum it all amount of money involved in Indian cricket has corrupted the system

UNLESS ONE KICKS OUT ONE OF THE TWO OPENERS THEY WILL NOT GET THE WARNING!
THERE IS A NEED FOR ROTATION EVERY THREE MATCHES IRRESPECTIVE OF THE PLAYER!
NO PLAYER MUST PLAY AT A STRETCH 4 MATCHES WITHOUT A HALF CENTURY AND 6 WITHOUT A CENTURY!
BOWLER WITHOUT WICKETS FOR THREE MATCHES/ 6 INNINGS MUST MAKE WAY AND WARM THE BENCH FOR THE NEXT!

this is because

aurogent Captain and buttery team selection members? If captain does not have the time to see the domestic Cricket b'cause of advertisements, modelling but team selector have the enough time to see the domestic cricket. If both does not have the time for domestic cricket then why they are wasting money of Board organizing selection meeting at hotel. they can nominate any 15 player of their choice and liking.
